Victoria Falls presents a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, forming the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Toka Leya Camp is splendidly situated in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Twelve spacious en-suite safari-style tents (including three family tents) with expansive decks soak up the dramatic views and active wildlife. Wooden walkways snake between the units and main area, limiting our footprint on this pristine area. Hippo, crocodile, and elephant are regularly seen near camp.
You will spend the day on safaris, fishing on the Zambezi and adrenaline-pumping adventures.
You then explore Botswana's contrasts and extremes in pristine and remote locations. You will have the time to really experience Botswana's scenic northern areas - from the blue-green wetlands of the Okavango Delta to the diverse and wildlife-rich Linyanti and Chobe River systems. The skilled rangers and guides accompanying guests are able to share their knowledge of the wildlife and wilderness, as well as advising guests on the best ways to capture everything with their cameras.
You will spend the next three days at Linyanti Tented Camp, booked solely for families and small groups, is the ideal location for those wishing to experience the wildlife-rich Linyanti Concession in privacy. Unrivalled in its remoteness and sense of space, the camp overlooks the iconic marsh and floodplain with its four large, airy and en-suite tents designed to recreate the style of the early explorers. Built on a slightly raised deck with impressive views, the main area of camp is the perfect place from which to watch the passing parade of wildlife and for convivial relaxation. Evenings are spent around the crackling fire under the stars or in the traditional boma.
Situated on the edge of the Gomoti river system is Gomoti Camp. The camp has 10 luxury tents which include 2 luxury family tents and 8 luxury double tents, all with en-suite bathroom facilities. The Gomoti tree is locally known as the water fig and grows alongside waterways in the Okavango Delta. It’s a smallish tree which sometimes grows no bigger than a bush. The Gomoti trees line the waterways and provide excellent cover for nesting water birds such as herons and storks. You will spend the next two days exploring this beautiful region.
Xigera Camp (pronounced Keejera) lies on the aptly named Paradise Island, surrounded by deep channels and lush vegetation within a remote area of the productive Moremi Game Reserve. For much of the year, this magnificent area epitomises the permanently flooded section of the Okavango Delta, with palm-filled islands, riverine forests, a multitude of clear water channels and expansive floodplains. There are nine raised luxury tents with en-suite facilities, an outdoor shower – and superb views of the classic Okavango Delta floodplains that surround the camp. Meals and evening drinks are enjoyed in the lounge, bar and dining area overlooking a permanently flowing channel or under the stars in a traditional African boma. For those hot days, there is a small plunge pool in which to cool off.
You will spend the next two days on game drives, mokoro excursions, boat cruises and fishing. Xigera Camp is a birdwatcher’s paradise. Aside from the famous Pel’s fishing-owl, waterbirds large and small, colorful and secretive are seen here, such as African skimmer, slaty egret, wattled crane and much more.
This tour is ideal for couples, families and friends wanting to travel together.

"I wanted to say thank you for helping with the reservations and finding such a wonderful place. The family had a great time - a once in a lifetime opportunity is what my son said."
"I just returned from this 10-night tour, and it was fantastic. We had a small group (6 people), a wonderful guide (Emmanuel) who was with us the whole time and could answer virtually every question about the wildlife and Botswana, and a nice variety of camps. The first night was at Toka Leya, in Zambia near Victoria Falls, and the remainder of the safari was at 3 Botswana camps for 3 nights each -- Linyanti Discoverer (in Linyanti Reserve), Gomoti Tented (near Santawani just east of Moremi Game Reserve), and Jacana (in the Okavango Delta). This selection in Botswana provided nice variety -- river, open plain, and water. The camps were quite comfortable (all had flush toilets and running water showers) and the food was uniformly excellent. The first afternoon included a tour of Victoria Falls, and the next day included a Chobe River cruise. Transportation among these places was entirely by small airplane. The highlights, of course, were the animals. We saw everything from the big 5 to cheetah, giraffe, impala, kudu, mongoose, warthog, hippo, baboon, hyena, wild dog, hippo, and numerous bird species. We witnessed impala kills by lions, cheetah, and leopard, and a standoff between a pack of wild dogs and a pair of lions over who would get a kudu killed by the dogs. An advantage of using Wilderness Safaris in Botswana is that all of the game viewing is on private concessions they control, so there are never more than 3 jeeps at a time watching the most dramatic events (like the cheetah kill). I highly recommend this tour."
