The Pafuri Walking Trail consists of a mobile camp in the private Makuleke Concession of the northern Kruger National Park.
Using one campsite as your base, the day is spent walking through different habitats of the 26 500- hectare concession. Walk the floodplains of the Limpopo and Luvuvhu Rivers, experience wide vistas where acacia woodland and riverine forests provide shade and time to reflect. The exquisite baobab trees (so well-known in this province) are a sight to behold, as are the perennial springs and the exquisite bird and animal life found in the region. Over 350 species of birds can be found on the concession including the Pel’s Fishing Owl and Arnot’s Chat.
A trained guide well-versed in the region will lead the excursion and point out places of interest, explain animal behavior and tell you about the fascinating history of the area.
The mobile camp consists of walk-in tents with comfortable camping beds, en-suite eco-toilets, and separate bucket showers. At night, light is provided by lanterns and a crackling fire.
Snacks and water are carried in daypacks, while all meals are enjoyed back at the camp, including dinner under the stars.
The trails season runs from April to October each year with set departure days. Please consult with one of our travel experts for more information.

"A very rich wildlife experience. That's Pafuri Walking Trail in the northern Kruger. We enjoyed exceptional guiding and fabulous food set against a backdrop of perfect accommodation in a wonderfully simple setting. The luxury of sand, without thorns, to walk around without shoes in camp. There was plenty of game, approachable on foot including loads of elephant and buffalo up close. And even a resident camp buffalo lying in the grass next to the breakfast table. The bird life was prolific making sure there was never a dull moment. And even an African Rock Python made an appearance. This is definitely a bucket list must for any discerning wildlife junkie."
