Itinerary

Day 1 - 3: Chobe National Park

Accommodation: Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge

Your safari journey begins with a flight from Johannesburg's OR Tambo Airport to Maun Airport. On your arrival, you will connect with a 45-minute charter flight from Maun to Savuti airstrip. You will then transfer by road for approximately 40 minutes before reaching your camp.

During your 3-night stay at Ghoha Hills, you will have a good chance of seeing elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodiles, lions, leopards and wild dog as well as tall Secretary Birds, Kori bustards, the vibrant Carmine Bee Eaters and elegant fish eagles. Explore the expansive Chobe wilderness on morning and full day safaris and enjoy the extraordinary Botswana night sky that offers clear views of faraway galaxies.

A full day safari includes waterholes, marsh area, baobab stretching points, riversides and grasslands. Just to name a few: Harvey’s Pan, where so many animals roam daily, the Savuti SandRidge, the Kudu Hills, Quarry hill and rock climbing to get a close view of the Bushmen Rock Paintings, seeing the Pimple Hills as well as Twin Hills and visiting the Twelve Baobab theater on the way.

Highlights on safari include the Cathedral of Baobabs which offers some outstanding photographic opportunities and a well-presented picnic bush lunch along the riverbank.

Back at camp, you will have time to relax in the lodge area, have a swim or enjoy a wellness treatment.

Day 4 - 6: Okavango Delta

Accommodation: Kadizora Camp

After a scrumptious breakfast, you gather your belongings and bid farewell to the friendly staff at Ghoha Hills as you transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled 50-minute charter flight to Kadizora Camp.

On your arrival, you will be met on the airstrip by your guide who will transfer you to Kadizora Camp which is located between the Vumbura River and the Selinda Spillway in the remote northern reaches of the delta.

During your 3-night stay, you will get a chance to explore the interwoven network of established riverine passageways and lattice of smaller trails carved by the force of nature and the tracks of elephants and hippos.

From the air, by boat, on foot or by 4x4 (on and off-road), you will get the opportunity to view elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dogs, hyena, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, red lechwe, impala, honey badgers, hippos, crocodiles and much more.

Back at camp, relax on the lodge deck that is shaded by giant Marulas, Sycamore figs, and Jackalberry trees or take a dip in the pool whilst taking in the spectacular views of the surrounding floodplains.

Day 7: Depart the Okavango Delta

Wake up early to enjoy one last game drive or water adventure in the misty cool of the morning. Your safari has touched on some of Botswana’s most quintessential features, and better yet, you’ve seen it from a higher perspective.

Once you’ve enjoyed a hearty breakfast and packed your bags, you will transfer to the airstrip and fly to Maun Airport where you will connect with your onward flight to Johannesburg's OR Tambo Airport.

Reviews

"Fantastic service!! It was a last minute booking and our main condition was a private game viewing vehicle. In google search I discovered Safari.com and consultant Ruben helped me to narrow it down to number of suitable places. He worked with us all through the weekend and even at the late hours to make sure that we find the best place for the best price and with the vehicle we wanted. I never thought it will be possible but he did it! We have spend the most amazing weekend in the Okavango Delta and I have had the best birthday in my life! And without Ruben it wouldn't have happened."

"A week for a business trip was scheduled for me in Johannesburg. I wanted to extend my stay for another week to spend some time with my son with a Safari. Tried with some websites, but the were quite obscure and confusing especially when you have never done a safari before. At some point I landed on the safari.com website with the possibility to converse with a representative. I talked to Annemarie Linda and she helped me to find a programme with the budget I gave and the availability of lodges. She really did a great job and everything she organised was perfect. She was available at all times to answer to any questions I had. Thank you very much Annemarie and Safari.com"
