Day 1: - Lake Duluti Serena Hotel

Arrive into Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met as you enter the arrivals terminal and transferred to the slopes of Mount Meru on the outskirts of Arusha, this unique hotel in Arusha, stands on the shores of Lake Duluti and surrounded by coffee plantations. Designed to echo the traditional style of the colonial coffee farm, which originally stood on this site, the hotel offers a range of tastefully presented cottage-styled rooms set amid extensive landscaped grounds.

Day 2: Lamai Serengeti

Enjoy a delicious breakfast with bottomless coffee then gather your belongings to be transferred to Arusha Airport to board a flight to the Kogatende Airstrip, in the Northern Serengeti, here your game drive begins with a 45-minute drive to the Lamai Serengeti. 

Day 3: Serengeti safari

Your morning game drive departs the Lodge at 7 am. Grab a breakfast box on your way out the door and enjoy fresh coffee and delicious croissants while searching for your first of the Big Five. Return to the Lodge at lunchtime and enjoy an à la carte lunch outdoors at Maji Bar and Terrace, with its endless views of the Serengeti, while dining on a choice of fresh salads, creative sandwiches and delicious pasta dishes. At 4 pm, depart for an evening game drive to continue your search for the Big Five. Our safari guides will do their best to show you the amazing wildlife up close and personal. Return to the Lodge to sip cocktails at the Sundowner Bar followed by dinner where the chefs will serve up some tasty Swahili cuisine featuring specialties from the coast. And after dinner, you can attend the evening’s lecture by the Discovery Centre team before retiring to your room.

Day 4: Safari and Serengeti spa

Wake up with the sun and enjoy a delicious breakfast from the enticing buffet, perhaps deciding on coconut pancakes with vanilla syrup to stock up on energy to prepare you for your morning game drive. Return to the Lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing in the infinity pool as you enjoy the elephants playing in the watering hole just beyond. Consider a spa treatment prior to dinner, followed by a sundowner as you watch the sun create magic in the sky. For your dinner, choose the specialty Boma restaurant and select one of our delicious grilled items, served in an outdoor, uniquely designed atmosphere. A post-dinner drink at the open-air lounge is a fine way to end your safari day.

Day 5: Lamai Serengeti to Manta Resort

Pile your plate with items from our delicious breakfast buffet prior to your transfer to the Seronera airstrip and take flight to the magical island of Pemba for breathtaking views over the endless Indian ocean on the terrace of your very own seafront villa. Here you can enjoy adventurous and beautiful diving sessions to glimpse the unique underwater world of Pemba Island, these waters hide secrets of the most exquisite kind, unspoilt coral reefs which are fringed by snow white, delicately soft sand on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Day 6: Underwater room @ the Manta Resort

Accommodation: The Manta Resort

This underwater room will take your breath away, it is a floating structure, Swedish engineered, which provides three levels. The landing deck, at sea level, has a lounge area and bathroom facility. A ladder leads up to the roof which has a relaxation area – for sun worshipping by day and stargazing by night. Then downstairs – the magical feeling of lying on a soft double bed surrounded by panes of glass affording a 360 degree view of shoals of reef fish and exquisite marine creatures, resident visitors include three batfish and a trumpet fish called Nick, who seems to always be peering in! Octopus and even Spanish dancers have been seen attaching themselves to the glass panes. The reef inhabitants cannot resist stopping by, which makes for an unbelievable and truly unique experience!

Day 7: Manta Resort

Every morning at 7 am, you can go snorkeling by Ngalawa to the reef, directly in front of the resort, here lies the conservation area where hundreds of species of marine life and crystal clear tropical waters make this a must for all nature lovers. Your guide will show you the colourful, vibrant life, lying just under the surface. The scuba diving around Pemba Island is phenomenal, the untouched coral reefs surrounding the entire island make this one of the top dive sites in the world. Water temperature averages 26ºC and the best visibility of East Africa of 30-40 meters almost every day! The sandbank excursion is a 10-minute boat ride from the resort at low tide, to a sandbank that protrudes to offer the purest white coral sand. Take a walk or sit and relax with a cooler box of fruits and refreshments, a perfect beach surrounded by azure blue waters.This excursion depends on the tides, currents, and weather conditions and is not always possible.

Day 8: Depart Pemba

Accommodation: Own arrangements

Enjoy an amazing ocean swim followed by an island breakfast then gather your belongings together, say goodbye to all these warm-hearted people that have become your new friends in such a short time. Transfer to the airport and fly off from Pemba, the paradise island, to your homeward bound connecting airport.
