Belmond Eagle Island Lodge enjoys a privileged position on a private island at the heart of the Okavango Delta. The only inland delta of its kind, it is an oasis of life in the center of the Kalahari Desert.
Offering the ultimate Okavango Delta water- experience-focused safari lodge & unveiling a sleek new look after an almost total rebuild, Belmond Eagle Island Lodge is one of Botswana’s original safari lodges, perched on a private island encircled by some of the deepest stretches of the Okavango Delta, one of the world's largest inland water systems and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The lodge's twelve roomy and spacious deluxe tented rooms boast their own plunge pool. A private deck provides the perfect space to soak up the scenery. The interior décor is elegant and light. The centerpiece of every tented room is an oversized bed with views of the delta. The uniquely designed, handmade copper-finish headboards reference Botswana’s mining tradition. In-room amenities include a deep day bed, large desk, fully-stocked mini bar and discreet air conditioning. An en-suite bathroom features a walled outdoor shower with a window looking onto the delta, a large indoor bathtub, and walk-in wardrobe.
The lodge offers a variety of essentially water-focused safari activities including motorboat safaris, barge cruises, makoro safaris (a dugout canoe), fishing, as well as walking safaris and the ultimate air safari experience by helicopter – a highlight of any guests’ stay.
