"Fantastic venue, staff, rangers, food, and overall awesome experience. It was our first time on safari and it was only on our 3rd drive we saw one lion and on our 5th drive that we saw two lions, lioness and cubs. We saw a lot of elephants, rhinos, baboons, antelope etc although were not fortunate enough to see cheetah or leopard but we still had fantastic time."

"Excellent venue, beautifully designed, appointed and finished. Really great staff from the manager, helpers, chefs, waiters and trackers on the game drives. Very welcoming and obliging at all times. food was excellent, amazing wine in the biggest glasses I have ever used!! Game drives were at 6 am and then again at 3 pm finishing 6-8 pm depending on what we saw and how cold we were. bring winter woolies if going in the winter. The game drives have thick wind and water proof ponchos but you still need a good few layers underneath especially when racing thought the game reserve in an open game-viewing truck. whilst we had a great sighting of lion, elephant and rhino on one particular drive the big five could be extremely elusive even in the southern parts of the reserve where it has more open plains and potentially better visibility. Trackers / guides Sebastian and Ed were excellent although most of our time was with Ed. He was great value, kept us entertained at all times and even when our party had the potential to be a little lively and even rowdy, when the lions were close Ed had the politest way of taking control and impressing upon us the need for safety and decorum! Mid-game drive drinks, booze and snacks are served in the afternoon as the light starts to give way to the most glorious of southern night skies with the biggest splash of stars you have ever seen."

"Having visited this lodge several times, one of the things that always amazes me is just how clean and neat everything is. White floors always "white" ... not stained, muddy or even dusty. Rooms are stunning. Again neat and oh so clean. Beautifully designed and the beds are extra comfortable. Our food was beautifully prepared, the chef taking into consideration all diet and allergy requests. Quality and quantity was excellent, add to that the ambiance and private dinner allocations for guests and it's just perfect. Well done to the staff of the Clifftop kitchen and our lovely waiters Simon and Advice. The ultra helpful staff and the lovely Ursula made our stay extra perfect with their friendly helpful, attentive service. Always a smile... Clifftop is a must do! Thanks again everyone."

"We were there for 3 days to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. :-) We really liked the fact that it was only a 3 hour drive from JHB. The Lodge is well situated. thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation, especially having your own private splash pool. Our package was all inclusive, was nice not to worry about money. Meals were great, except for one... but Ursula the manager couldn't apologise enough and immediately replaced the meal. The 2 waiters/butlers we had were awesome. Our game drives were really great and Victor our Ranger was very knowledgeable :-) All in all a wonderful experience !"

"Clifftop was great, the Manageress (Ursula) and the staff were all really friendly and made us feel really welcome. Our ranger Sabastion was really entertaining and knowledgeable about the bush and eager to please. The accommodation was really neat, clean (bar the spider webs...but it is the bush after all) the room was private and with its deck, gazebo and plunge pool - We had an issue with the lunch on Sunday but generally the food was good and plentiful. A little piece of heaven. Stay for 3 nights, 2 is just too short."

"The lodge, service, food and overall bush experience was superb. We felt like extremely important, and as if our trip was exclusively setup for us. This is as good as it gets in terms of luxury, world class safari and delicious cuisine. Staff are very well trained, passionate about their jobs and the bush. Great team, great safari and a great experience which I would highly recommend!"

"We spent our anniversary at Clifftop - lovely small lodge and we were blessed to have a private dinner in the cellar. The staff were accommodating and the stay was peaceful and exactly what we needed. The suite was beautiful and the best was being on Welgevonden, one of our favorite reserves. The lodge overlooks the gorge and the views and wildlife are spectacular!"
