Sabi Sabi Game Reserve

Why

The reserve is home to the Big Five (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo), as well as cheetah, wild dog and hundreds of other species of animals, birds and plants indigenous to the area. Highly trained and experienced rangers and trackers ensure that your safari experience ranks amongst the best in the world.

The Sabi Sabi Game Reserve has been recognized internationally as a luxury safari destination, offering visitors the choice between four unique lodges and camps, exceptional up-close wildlife encounters, a personalized service, and sumptuous cuisine.

The reserve forms part of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve which shares unfenced borders with the famous Kruger National Park, promising an unforgettable Big Five safari experience. The Sabi Sands is renowned for its incredible big cat sightings, particularly of the elusive leopard.

Stemming from over 100 years of exciting safari history, each of Sabi Sabi’s four luxury safari lodges embraces a particular point in time. The award-winning Selati Camp depicts a historic railway theme and is a favorite amongst honeymooners with the special touches of romantic turn downs and private dinners, whilst Bush Lodge and Little Bush Camp offers a more contemporary look and feel and are ideal for families and friends looking for a relaxed space in which to spend some quality time together, with a dedicated programme and center for the kids. Earth Lodge is Sabi Sabi's flagship lodge, showcasing award-winning design and luxury at its best.

The Sabi Sabi Game Reserve offers sanctuary to over 300 species of birds, 47 large mammal species, and 57 species of reptile. Visitors to the Sabi Sabi Game Reserve are treated to a safari experience of a lifetime, with highly trained rangers and trackers doing everything possible to not only find the big five, but share with guests their knowledge of trees, plants, and the smaller wondrous creatures of the African bush. Focussed on the wildlife, Sabi Sabi offers community tours, photographic safaris, birding safaris, walking safaris, stargazing, and incredible bush dining experiences.

The Sabi Sabi philosophy of ‘yesterday, today and tomorrow’ stems from over 100 years of safari experience; a history richly woven into the atmosphere of each of its four uniquely individual safari lodges – Selati Camp, Bush Lodge, Little Bush Camp and Earth Lodge. South Africa and its warm hospitality echo through the style and flavour of each and every one. This award winning private game reserve offers world-class standards in luxury accommodation, exceptional close wildlife encounters, personal service and delicious cuisine.

When

Any time of year is a good time to visit Sabi Sabi, as each season has its own advantages.

Best time to visit Sabi Sabi Game Reserve is during the dry-winter seasons, as the temperatures are mild and game viewing is abundant. In Autumn and Winter, the bush is less dense and with a lack of water, animals frequent the waterholes more often.

Spring and Summer is a time when the bush is green, lush and thick. It is also the time of year when the reserve is filled with many newborn animals.

It was a great experience dealing with Shann. She was most accommodating and patient. We managed to sort things out very eventually. The only sore point I have is the 2 % surcharge for the card handling fee, which I find too excessive. Otherwise, I am pleased with everything.

Keith went above and beyond…
Keith went above and beyond expectations arranging our holiday safari travels (for one vegan and one mobility-impaired traveller, no less:-). Safari.com is lucky to have Keith on board. He helped us feel confident in our choices, keeping us up to date with options, and finessing holiday scheduling issues with aplomb.
