The eco-friendly Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge is positioned in the Savuti Region which forms part of the Chobe National Park in Northern Botswana. Chobe National Park is world renowned for having the largest number of elephants in Africa and Ghoha Hills showcase their numbers best as they frequently gather around the lodge's waterhole.
Ghoha Hills is a four-star graded lodge that was designed to blend in with the natural surrounding. The lodge is eco-friendly, running completely on solar power which significantly reducing the lodges impact on the environment.
Each of the eleven luxury Tented Rooms feature en-suite bathrooms with spectacular views across the plains, overhead fans, standing fans, writing desk, armchairs, mosquito netting, in-room safes, bathrobes and slippers, eco-friendly guest amenities and private viewing decks which can be used to enjoy the pristine wilderness.
The lodge also has 2 luxury Family-size Tented Rooms that sleep four and are suitable for two adults and two children sharing.
The lodge facilities include a lounge area, dining area, bar, boma, library, curio shop, rock pool, spa, gymnasium, charging station, Wi-Fi access, and a viewing deck which offers unparalleled views of the bush and active waterhole.
Activities offered at the lodge include morning & afternoon game drives in open 4 x 4 safari vehicles on private roads, full-day excursions to the Savuti Marsh visiting the Baobab Theatre, Bushman Rock Paintings & Pimple Hills; birdwatching, stargazing, sundowner drives and private dinners.
The Chobe National Park lies South of Linyanti and covers an area of over 10 000 square kilometers. The Savuti Marsh is fed by the erratic Savuti Channel, which dries up for long periods then curiously flows again.
During the rainy season, birding safaris are at their best with approximately 450 bird species recorded in the Chobe National Park. Large Secretary Birds and Kori bustards are often seen strutting around the Savuti marsh and small Redbilled francolins provide as a noisy morning wake up call. Interesting summer migrants and water birds include Abdim's storks, Carmine Bee Eaters and even Fish Eagles. Little Quelea finches are quite a spectacle as they gather in thousands. They reach a frenzy of numbers in about April when a single flock could contain tens of thousands of these small twittering birds.
The region is most famous for its annual migration of Zebras and predators. Thousands of Zebras move slowly across the plains in their twice-yearly migration whilst large numbers of lion follow. Leopard and cheetah are also often seen.
Other wildlife found in the Chobe include rare and endangered wild dog, zebra, wildebeest, impala, sable, roan, eland, giraffe, baboon, warthog, elephant, buffalo and a variety of bird-life unique to the Chobe.
