"We have enjoyed great times in South African game reserves over the years but the four days we spent in Impodimo were the most memorable. Outstanding ranger (Hein) and tracker (Sam) with much detailed knowledge and great sense of humour. Went out of their way to find incredible sightings including brown hyena feeding off a giraffe, a group of wild dogs, and following a lion in the dark. Jumped one morning when opened lodge door to find huge giraffe standing outside. Food at all meal times was first class, way above anything we have experienced before. Compliments to the chef. Office staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the sundowners in the middle of the bush with magical sunsets - couldn't believe we were walking about and not feeling too nervous. Game drives and meal times always ran to time. Lodges were very comfortable and it was a pleasure to sit in the sun watching game walk past not many meters away. Everything exceeded our expectations."

"Another great safari at Impodimo, saw the big five again this year. Amazing experience, fantastic guide and tracker. Elephants right up to the window! Didn't want to leave. Planning to go back again. Warm friendly and helpful staff, good food and brilliant atmosphere."

"One of the best lodges and dedicated team in the bush. Brilliant. A special and heart felt "thank you" to the staff at Impodimo for making our stay so special memorable. Our game viewing and knowledge shared by the team was fantastic. Ranger Tyrone and Tracker Sam skills really compliment each other. They are both brilliant and so eager to ensure we get the best viewings available. Special sightings of a wild dog litter, two lion feeds (on giraffe and baby buffalo), an attempted lion feed on a baby elephant; not to mention brilliant sightings of leopard, a serval cat (well done Sam), buffalo, hyena and numerous birds. Thank you. Room #1 is the pick. No time for afternoon naps; but rather spent hours watching the hi jinx of the elephants at the waterhole from our patio. It was impressive to see the respect each ranger has for the bush, wildlife and other guests. At each sighting, no more than two or three vehicles are in attendance. Thus giving space and respect to the animals and other guests from the various lodges. Works well without over crowding. Our appreciation to the back of house staff - especially the wait staff and chefs. My partner, being celiac, was well catered for. The food was very very good. We left a tad heavier. Tip - browse through the cellar - they have a okay priced, brilliant drop of Meerlust 2008. Aaaah - nice!! Looking forward to a return trip - and will ensure we get Tyrone, Sam and a bottle of Meerlust. Thank you Impodimo Team for making the holiday with my parents so special."

"We recently returned from a 4 night stay at Impodimo lodge (3-7 Sept) and what an amazing stay we had! The lodge, staff & food were all incredible. The staff were very friendly & helpful and the meals, brunches, afternoon tea and game drive snacks were all delicious! Nothing was too much hassle and it really felt like a luxury vacation where we received excellent service. We were lucky to get room number 1, which has one of the best views over the watering hole where the animals often visit. It is a really special moment to be able to sit, whilst having a cup of tea and watch a herd of elephants drinking and playing only 30m in front of you. The highlight of our stay was obviously the morning and afternoon game drives with our guide Tyrone and spotter Sam. Tyrone's passion, knowledge and enthusiasm for wildlife is truly inspiring. He made us feel safe (when you're less than 10m away from two male lions, a certain level of reassurance is required!) he was always willing to answer our (non-stop) questions and seemed to know endless amounts of information about Madikwe, it's wildlife and surroundings. Tyrone always kept us informed on the plan for the drive and updated us with possible sightings and he had quite impressive off road driving skills too! Having Sam riding on the front of the vehicle and experiencing his truly amazing skills at spotting and tracking wildlife made the drives even more enjoyable. He has a real skill and a very keen eye - I'm sure we wouldn't have seen half as much as we did without him! We cannot fault our stay at Impodimo and are really glad we chose the lodge and were particularly glad to have Tyrone and Sam as our guide/spotter. It truly is a special place and the biggest compliment we can give is that we would hope to return again in the future."

"We spent three days/two nights at Impodimo at the end of August. What a great little lodge with only a small number of chalets allowing you to get to know the staff and other guests. The staff at the lodge were very friendly, professional, and always happy to help. In fact the service was excellent at all times. Clean, spacious and well appointed chalets with great views directly into the bush. Special thanks for Sam and Tyrone our dedicated tracker and guide who made the game drives so interesting and informative. Your efforts at tracking down a Leopard were especially appreciated! We loved the stops in the bush for morning coffee and sunset drinks. The evening dinners were very good indeed, top restaurant quality in my opinion! Excellent gluten free options as well. Highly recommended for a true bush experience and would definitely love to go back."

"We had a fantastic four days at Impodimo. The staff and service were excellent, the rooms superb (we had the very spacious family suite), the food was delicious and the game drives were amazing. We saw a great range of animals and our guide and tracker (Hein and Sam) made our trip truly unforgettable. Nothing was too much trouble, and everyone went to great lengths to ensure that we all had the holiday of a lifetime. We would recommend Impodimo without hesitation, can't think of a bad word to say about our time there, and hope to go back one day."

"We were a party of 11, with ages ranging from 7 months to 90 years. Impodimo was perfect in every way - they thought of a hundred different ways of making us all welcome. No request was too much for the staff. The accommodation was luxurious, the food was novel and delicious. And the game viewing was unbelievable. I've been on many game reserve trips over the years, and I think I saw more diamond variety on this trip than I've seen on the other trips combined! We were very sorry to leave after only 4 days! (Hint: if you go, ask for Tyrone and Sam to be your guide and tracker - they were amazing)."

"Came here with my two brothers and mother and it was absolutely perfect. We only stayed for two nights, which was a bit too little as there still seemed to be much more to see. The accommodation was really good and the food was absolutely excellent. The game drives were spectacular. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Our ranger and tracker were both very experienced and knew how to show us amazing game. From our rooms overlooking the water hole, we saw elephants, warthogs, impalas and other various animals come to drink throughout the day and a massage overlooking the water hole on the deck was perfect and very relaxing. Overall a wonderful experience for all and hoping to return here very soon!"

"Every time we visit the Impodimo Game Lodge, it just gets better and better! We did not think this was possible, but it does!!! Not only is the accommodation ultra-luxurious, but the food, pampering and staff simply go from good to better to the best!"

"Amazing lodge with amazing amenities. The accommodations are luxurious and comfortable. Everything you can want and ever need. Amazing views from the room overlooks a waterhole teaming with wildlife. The food was delicious and prepared with love and attention to detail. Very high end dining in the bush. The wildlife exceeds expectations. We saw the Big 5 on our very first drive. Great staff, great lodge, great place to visit."
