3 Day Exclusive Sabi Sand Safari Experience | safari.com

Overview

The Tydon Bush Camp is set in the heart of the Sabi Sabi bushveld. Meals, including the wonderful dinners in the open-air boma, are heralded by blasts on a kudu horn; a summoning to delicious food.

Each day at Tydon Bush Camp will reveal exiting prospects for sightings of leopard, lion and rhino during game drives. However, there is so much more to an African safari, other than the Big Five. A collection of smaller creatures add colour to the safari experience, and one need not leave the comfort of the camp to see massive herds of buffalo, antelope and elephant families which gather at the camp's waterhole.

This place was PHENOMINAL! The food was great and the people were super friendly and acomodating. The only thing I wish I did differently was stay longer!

David

My daughter and I had a peaceful and fun time on our safari. We had the entire bushcamp to ourselves. Jaques our guide was fun and informative. The meals at camp were yummy. I would recommend this to anyone! Thank you.

Dawn Button

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time at Tydon safari Camp. Staying in the bush camp was a great experience. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and the exposure to the animals was incredible. The food was great and the tents were very luxurious for a bush camp. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

Robert

Organised very well with owner through e-mail. always fast to response and very helpful in answering all our questions. Offered two places to stay and we did accept the higher priced option to stay in the game reserve and would definitely recommend that.Pick up was very straight forward from an airport hotel, Johannesburg. Collected at 8:30am, driver was excellent and very passionate about his job, Drive took about 7 hours with 1 hour included for a stop over lunch in a safe place.Check in was very easy, all staff very welcoming and friendly Dropped bags into the tent accommodation and headed out onto a game drive at 4pm - 7:30pm, guide was excellent and extremely knowledgeable throughout the tour!!! Take the option of a guided walk in the afternoon, its simply outstanding, lasts about 1 hour depending on heat.Excellent food for all meals, cold refreshments (at a small additional price) were great to have access too.Accommodation was great, air con work to a good level, however cooling a tent down in 38 deg heat is always going to be hard. Very clean and comfortable, having an en-suite is great too.Take a book to read as between morning drive and evening drive there is some hanging around in the camp as it is unsafe to be out the camp without your guide. There is a pool on offer, however as the owner of the house was there we were unable to use it, so can not comment on size etc.Taken back to Johannesburg airport a slightly different route to see more of the area, takes about 6-7 hours once again. An excellent trip overall, excellent guide, excellent staff and worth every penny. Definitely recommend to family and friends

Rory

Tydon Safari Camp was amazing! The tents were extremely nice, service was impeccable and the staff were accommodating. The camp is perfect…great pool, beautiful dining area and large fire pit. Lyam and Joy (Safari Guides) are very well educated and do their best to enable you to see everything you came to see. I would highly recommend Tydon Safari Camp. I will always remember my time at their Camp.

Kim

Our host and owner, Gavin, along with his safari guide Joy and his staff made us feel welcomed and pampered everyday. The tented camp was comfortable with a huge sleeping space with a full size bed. The tent was airconditioned. Games drives with Joy were fun and educational. Thanks Joy! We saw the big five in just two game drives. This place is a must go to. All meals were a South African cuisine at it's best. If you are looking for a lodge that allows you to experience the "bush" of South Africa then this is the place.

Diana

I thought that I had come to see the animals; I left with a rich life experience of love for the land and people. The accommodation - tents, dining hall, pool, firepit area are all top notch as is the location with easy access to both Sabi Sands and Kruger Park. But it was the personal interaction, with Tydon staff and with other visitors, that made this visit so special. Gavin is passionate in his love of the bush and animals and Joy and Lyam, his guides, share this in their game drives. The evenings of great meals of traditional African dishes, good wines, lively conversation were my favourite part of the experience.

Eileen

This was my second trip to Krugar, however, the tour provided by Tydon was great. The knowledge of where to view the animals, the food and general hospitality was superb.

Rob

This was my third trip back to Tydon Safaris from the US. These people have it all together. From the moment of contact with Gavin to the drop off at the airport to leave. I can't recommend these people enough. EVERYONE treats you as part of their family. The food is the best. The accommodations are the best with the modern conveniences in a tent! I can't thank the game drivers enough for time spent. Debbie, you are best there is. Don't change anything. Loandri, loved the elephant encounters. Jared, you are a walking encyclopedia of South Africa and if you don't know something, you will make a point to find out. Lyam, they were TOTALLY entertaining drives. I have never laughed so hard. Keep those people passing by waving at you and I will never be able to see a picture of a baboon and not have a good laugh thanks to you and Tyron! I will be back someday and WILL stay with them again!!!!!

Tydon was fantastic from start to finish. The staff was outstanding: Every aspect of our experience was better than we could have imagined. Most surprising was the quality of the food. I was hoping for edible. What I got was some of the best food on our three-week trip.
