7 Day Luxury Kruger & Victoria Falls Safari| safari.com

Overview

Kruger is rated as the ultimate safari experience and Victoria Falls is a Natural Wonder of the World and also the largest waterfall in the wet season. Here is a wildlife and scenic wonder combination package that flows as smoothly as the Zambezi River, with 3 nights at a private reserve in Greater Kruger and 3 nights at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, it includes top guides, great food, stylish and functional accommodation and jaw-dropping wildlife and scenic experiences.

Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport

Take a scheduled flight from Johannesburg OR Tambo to Hoedspruit Eastgate airport, you will be met off your flight and transferred to the intimate Buffalo Camp for 3 nights.
Reminiscent of a traditional African safari camp from a bygone era, this is the ultimate luxurious tented accommodation experience. Built from natural stone and wood, the luxury game lodge has an olde worlde atmosphere while being completely contemporary. The 10 spacious suites are set on stilted wooden decks built on an elevated riverbank. Wooden walkways connect the suites and main lodge. Tall shady trees provide shade and tented suites are air conditioned. Oil lanterns illuminate the walkways to create subtle light and ambiance. Focus is on personal attention with superb service and complete comfort.
à la carte breakfast and lunch are served under a canopy of thatch, while dinner is usually enjoyed in the rustic outdoor boma, around a roaring open fire.

Day 2: Morning and Afternoon Game Drives and Bush Walk

The day starts with an early wake-up call between 5am and 5:30am. While seeing big game is always exhilarating, there are many other smaller species that are also captivating, and birding enthusiasts will be delighted at the approximately 350 species of birds recorded on the reserve. Halfway through the game drive, there’s a stop for hot drinks and snacks, before returning to the lodge for a full breakfast.
Since this is a Big Five reserve, seeing lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo is highly likely.

At around 3:30pm, everyone gathers for a decadent high tea, before heading out with your ranger and tracker for the afternoon game drive through the reserve. En route, you’ll stop for a sundowner drink.
As darkness falls, the nocturnal animals of the bush come out. The skilled tracker will scan the landscape using a spotlight, which illuminates animals’ eyes. A variety of completely different species can be seen on the night drive back to the lodge just in time for dinner.

Day 3: Morning and Afternoon Game Drives and Bush Walk

Usual morning and afternoon game drives run every day, rain or shine. An optional bush walk is also recommended, feel Africa underfoot on a guided bush walk with a highly trained game ranger. The experience offers an intimate encounter with nature and wildlife, and medicinal and other plants are identified en route.
Rangers also teach walkers to track wildlife in the traditional way, using animal footprints and scat. Expert trackers are able to tell the gender of many animals just from their footprints. Large and dangerous animals are avoided on walks, but many other species can be viewed from a safe distance at ground level. A bush walk through Kapama Private Game Reserve is a truly memorable and authentic encounter.

Day 4: Fly to Victoria Falls

An early breakfast and departure is necessary to depart Kapama by 7.30 am to arrive at Nelspruit airport at 9.30 am for the direct flight to Livingstone on Mon, Wed, Fri & Sat.
There will be a meet and greet and then you will be transferred to the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge for 3 nights with breakfast included.
Built of thatch and timber, the lodge rises several levels, giving the impression of a vast open-plan tree house. The rooms all have private balconies, most of which overlook a central waterhole, offering the opportunity to observe herds of buffalo, elephant and kudu and hyenas later in the evening.
At 4.00 pm you will be transferred to the Zambezi River, for a sunset cruise above the Falls. An expert boat crew and guides filled with wildlife knowledge and plenty of tales about local legend and colonial exploration, will keep you entertained and amused. Complimentary drinks and snacks are included and sunsets are exceptionally dramatic so please don’t forget your camera.

The whole experience was out of this world. My African Safari expert was very knowledgeable and helped me put together a once in a lifetime experience, they booked my flights, transfers and all accommodation which was great as I was not sure where to go and what was good. I saw Cape Town the Kruger National Park where I saw the big 5 after which I spent a few days at the Victoria falls experiencing all the beauty and getting my adrenaline fix :) I also managed to visit Chobe National Park where the wildlife viewing was amazing. I would highly recommend safari.com and visiting Africa, pictures and videos can't do seeing your first Lion only feet away from your safari vehicle. THANK YOU

The booking procedure was made so easy. I was assisted from the first phone call with absolute professionalism and friendliness which I value highly! I needed to change my booking on two occasions and this was no effort for your highly qualified competent staff. They took their time to help me and explained all I needed to know, answered my many questions and helped me make the best choices. When the person I dealt with first was not available on the day I called, the other staff member handled the situation with grace and professionalism, which was what I expected after having had a great experience with the first staff member. I was not once disappointed or let down.
