Guest Reviews for 6 Day Walking Safari Trail

Come and experience the wildlife and wilderness that makes Africa such a special place - the memories made on safari will stay with you forever!

We walked within 10 meters of rhino! the guides were amazing, the tent camp was old style chic and exactly how you fantasize African safaris to be. I thought i was on the set of "out of Africa" A must for anyone who wants to get really close to the animals and out of the jeep for an intimate experience with the wildlife.

We stayed at the Lodge for three nights and the experience was truly wonderful, starting out on the journey in from the airport when we saw our first Giraffe. We arrived mid afternoon and were quickly made comfortable before going out on our first drive. That was spectacular and over the next two days it just got better (starting out the next morning with sighting two lions from the outdoor shower!). The overall service was exquisite and our guide, Colin, looked after us not only on the drives but for the rest of the day too. Not a place to go to diet - as the day starts before the morning drive with coffee and snacks, followed by a sumptuous brunch on your return. High tea preceded the afternoon drive and dinner is superb. We could not have asked to see more animals (Big Five plus Cheetah and even a Wild Dog) Absolutely outstanding!

If you are looking for a place to chase down the ’big five’ or ’super seven’ then stay somewhere else. Not saying you will not see them, we did! If however, you are looking to relax and enjoy a lovely location, beautiful scenery and personal service then this is the place to be. I saw giraffes and kudu from the shower, a hyena and its kill on the walkway going for breakfast as well as rhinos, elephants and a leopard on the dirt road leading to the lodge..spectacular. The game drives were hit and miss, although the scenery was beautiful and we did not have a single game drive where we did not sight an animal/bird/reptile. Pros. The rooms are nice and the balcony spectacular, the service is outstanding and our guide, ’Ben’ very knowledgeable and attentive. Cons. Slightly manufactured ’bush experience’ in terms of the forced social interaction with group dinners and lunches, but really I am nitpicking, this is as spectacular and wonderful as the other reviews state. Definitely worth a stay. Tip: stay in room ’one’, although it is furthest down the walkway, it is the most private and as it is the last in the row, you get to see more animals from the shower and balcony.
