Guest Reviews for Cathedral Peak - Didima Camp

Come and experience the wildlife and wilderness that makes Africa such a special place - the memories made on safari will stay with you forever!

The restaurant staff do need to be more efficient in personal service. Full cutlery is never on the tables and we had to ask many times. Plates were not cleared away. We had to wave and call for service numerous times as the staff chatted at the desk.

This place is stunning and was designed to accommodate hiking. The accommodation was spotless and the road is in a good condition.Make sure that you bring all you need as the little shop is very basic.Ensure that your unit is closed at all times as the baboons will destroy anything in order to look for food.Do not forget your binoculars for the view from the mountains.

A peaceful haven in the berg where there are many options to stay, Didima is above average. The staff are friendly, the chalets are wonderful, the view was great and the gardens are well kept. I would happily recommend a stay here in all seasons. Hiking, birding or just relaxing, with family or in twosomes!!

Didima was a wonderful experience. I will recommend it to everybody especially tourists to SA. Much more than 3 star accommodation. Also the wheelchair chalet impressed me.

I enjoyed my stay.

Rooms clean, well maintained & very comfortable. Views are amazing. Hiking in the area caters for casual walks through to technically more difficult up Cathedral Peak.

The camp is great and the staff very friendly. The bungalows are well equipped however the furnishings are old and dirty, the carpet had many stains and was filthy, bedspreads old and not clean. Sheets old.

Stay was good but went to test the 4x4 on Mike's pass; that had been closed for over a year but no mention of that. Lucky the hotel is close and allows activities to didma guests; would have been very boring.

Nice and neat facilities but the towels weren't ready when we arrived and we could not take a shower straight away. The cutlery etc is very limited and makes cooking challenging. Had to search around the restaurant area to get some assistance to order drinks. Service was friendly though.

Very comforatable Chalets, Found that the breakfast was well below average, had to wait very long for certain menu selections, had all but run out of everything.Friendly staff attitude made up for kitchens shortcomings.

As always, we enjoyed our stay at Didima, and wished that we could've stayed a bit longer than a mere weekend. The rooms are always in perfect condition, nice and cozy by the fire, the restaurant's food has most certainly improved, and the view as always was magnificent. The only downside to the weekend was our neighbours not being considerate, waking us up at 4 in the morning with their voices travelling through the walls. I did not appreciate having to listen to their phone conversation, whilst they proceeded in poking the fireplace on and on and on.Nevertheless, such misfortune has not spoiled our outlook on our stay with Didima, and we l;ook forward to visiting again.

My husband and I visited Didima, it was fa-bu-lous. We loved every minute of our stay. the staff is so friendly and helpful. the place is so peaceful you forget the hussels of the city life. The mountains are breathtaking esp when the sun sets. The history, the rocks, the walks... I'll definitely take my whole family next time. We have to thank the chef for the fish we had for lunch, never had fish like that before. Oh, and the craft sold by the ladies, I nearly bought everything.
