Kusini lies on the path of the Great Migration, and from approximately December to March, masses of wildebeest congregate here to calve. Their exact arrival in the Serengeti is highly dependent on the rainfall patterns. Predators abound at this time – lion, leopard and cheetah eagerly awaiting on an opportunity to strike.
The area around Kusini is noted for its lion and cheetah populations and excellent leopard sightings. Guests frequently have sightings of all of the Big Five during their stay. There are high densities of both large and small predators, as well as big groups of herbivores.
