Kwetsani Camp is an intimate camp located in a remote area of the Jao Concession which forms part of the world-renowned Okavango Delta. The camp boasts incredible views across the Okavango floodplains that teem with wildlife.
Kwetsani Camp offers a more private safari experience and is ideal for small groups or families with only five “tree-house” chalets that are unique in design and beautifully furnished to blend seemingly with the natural surrounding. The stackable doors of each tent open out onto the bush, affording spectacular views from every area of the chalet.
The Chalets features a spacious open plan bedroom and lounge area, an en-suite bathroom with double vanities and large indoor and outdoor showers, a writing desk, mosquito netting, overhead fans, in-room safe, tea and coffee making facilities and a verandah complete with deck chairs. Four of the tents are twin bedded and one has a king-size bed.
The camp facilities include a dining room, lounge and bar area, plunge pool with loungers, and a viewing deck that offers sweeping vistas of the surrounding floodplains.
Kwetsani Camp offers excellent land and water activities. In the summer, these tend more towards game drives, whereas in the winter, mainly water-based activities are offered.
Morning and afternoon game drives are offered in open 4x4 Land Rovers and directed by professional guides. In times of high water, guests are transferred by boat to game drive areas. Night drives with spotlights allow you to find those rare nocturnal animals that can't be seen during the day. These include porcupine, aardwolf, serval, large spotted genet and lesser bushbaby are just some of these.
There is no better way of viewing the Delta and its wildlife than by gliding through the waterways on a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe). This experience is unique to Botswana and often reveals the smaller wondrous creatures of the African bush and the delta's spectacular birdlife. In summer, guests are driven to the water for this activity. It is important to note that this activity is water-level dependent.
Boating affords guests another means of viewing wildlife often yielding fabulous sightings of hippo and crocodile and maybe even the elusive sitatunga. This activity is water-level dependent.
The 150 000 acre private Jao Concession encompasses a vegetation of permanent swamps and dry land - the perfect sanctuary for wildlife. Around the Jao Flats, spectacular herds of red lechwe are followed by predators, namely lion
