Situated in the heart of historic Zululand in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal, Mkuze Falls Private Game Reserve is one of only two private game reserves in the region where you can view the 'Big 5' and nearly 430 species particularly the Fish Eagle, Giant Kingfisher, Narina Trogon and the spectacular Purple-crested Lourie. Overlooking the Mkuze Waterfall, the lodge features nine luxuriously appointed Thatched Chalets and one Safari Suite.
All the Chalets have a view of the river, bush and mountains and feature en-suite bathrooms, private plunge-pools, an outside shower, air-conditioning, overhead fans, mini-bar, mosquito net, safe, telephone and a viewing deck.
The Safari Suite is a romantic and beautifully decorated suite and boasts an en-suite bathroom, overhead fan, air-conditioning, mini-bar, telephone, safe, mosquito net, small kitchenette, and a spacious living and sleeping area with views of the Mkuze River and waterfall. The adjoining private outside shower, terrace and splash pool area is spacious and secluded. The Safari Suite is ideal for special occasions and honeymooners or those who want to experience something a little extra.
Relax in the spacious lounge or in the spa, view animals from the wooden deck, sip cocktails in the swimming pool or recount your sightings of the day in the bar! Taste South African food with a sophisticated flair under a star-strewn sky or in the boma to the sounds of tribal dance and song.
Activities offered at the lodge include morning and afternoon open vehicle game drives, safari boat cruises, fishing trips, and game and bird walks.
On game drives, you will have the opportunity to observe numerous plains game and of course the Big Five, elephant, rhinoceros, lion, leopard, buffalo. Cheetah sightings are prolific and exciting, not forgetting hippo and crocodile which provide nature lovers with a true untamed view of nature. Besides the larger and smaller mammals, their world is shared by a host of other creatures which makes up this ecosystem.

Children of all ages are welcome at the lodge. Due to safety reasons, children younger than 6 years of age are unfortunately not permitted on the daily game drives. Children younger than 12 may share the rooms with parents with a maximum of 1 child per chalet and a maximum of 2 children in the Luxury Safari Suite.
Children under 12 – 50% of the adult sharing rate when sharing in the same room with 2 adults.
The lodge reserves the right to restrict one night weekend or peak period bookings.
