Nairobi Tented Camp

Nairobi Tented Camp is situated within a riverine forest of the Nairobi National Park and only ten minutes away from Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta Airport. It is the first and only accommodation of its kind to be allowed in this uniquely diverse park, making it the ideal wilderness escape. 

Founded in 1946, Nairobi National Park is one of Kenya's oldest parks with its vast grassy plains, city backdrop and dotted acacia bush.

The camp consists of nine guest Tents that feature a double or twin beds, an ensuite bathroom with traditional bucket shower, wardrobe, luggage rack, writing desk, and a veranda complete with comfortable chairs and spectacular views of the valley and forest. To experience a truly authentic safari means you enjoy a bucket shower with no limit on the hot water.

The Mess Tent facilities include an indoor dining area, a comfortable lounge area, and a campfire to enjoy the starlit African skyline. 

The meals at Nairobi Tented Camp are prepared off a carefully designed menu, with warm breakfast in the morning, light lunches served under the shade of an olive tree and dinners served under the star-filled sky. Everything at Nairobi Tented Camp is homemade and prepared with special care.

Low watt LED lighting in each of the tents runs off rechargeable batteries and solar panels, and for dining, guests can enjoy the romance of candles and lanterns.

Nairobi National Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife with 100 mammal species including the endangered black rhino, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, buffalo, giraffe; as well as over 400 bird species recorded. 

Activities offered at the camp or nearby include morning and afternoon game drives, visits to the Elephant Orphanage, visits to the Giraffe Centre and the Karen Blixen Museum.

Child Policy

Children of all ages are welcome at the camp. 

3 – 12 years: Two children in own tent pay 75% of per person sharing rates. A 3rd child in the same tent pays 75% of per person sharing rate.

1 child sharing with 1 adult pays 75% of adult sharing rate & adult pays per adult sharing rate.

1 child sharing with 2 adults, pays above child rates but adults pay double tent rates.

Children below 3 years stay free. Maximum 1 child sharing with 2 adults in each tent due to size.
