"The whole family had a fab time at Nungubane, The lodge is very intimate and Jacque the general manager is really able to make you feel relaxed, like it's your own lodge. All staff were genuinely friendly and Livingston in the kitchen cooks up great 3 course meals - best lamb shank ever!"

"We had a wonderful time despite the terrible weather. The staff were really friendly and helpful we really enjoyed ourselves and saw many animals"

"We had a very good stay here. The rooms are very comfortable, with a fireplace, deck and full bathroom. The lodge was nice, food was good, and our ranger, Jacques, was great. Very knowledgeable, and easy to spend time with. We had good sightings of game. All in all, we would definitely go back!"

"Home from home. I could not recommend it enough! This lodge was a wonderful place to visit with my family, the team at the lodge couldn't do enough for us, it was an amazing experience. Lizzie, Anna and the rest of the team made our trip fabulous, they catered for the most fussy, they helped without being asked and they went above and beyond to make the trip so special. The food was amazing, Livingstone creating some fantastic dishes, my only unfair complaint was there was too much!!! I definitely needed some exercise on my return home. :) Josphat, our ranger, took us on 10 amazing game drives. His passion for the environment and the animals was unbelievable. We learnt every day, we saw some amazing sightings, finished off with a lovely drink in the bush every evening. Safari is one of my favourite holidays, Nungabane is definitely one to put on your list. 5* stay whilst felling you are in a homely lodge, I really couldn't recommend it enough!"

"We spent two nights in what I have to say was a fantastic room. We really felt spoilt by the staff. They made us feel so welcome and catered for every need. An outdoor shower just cannot be beaten! The room is luxurious and comfortable with its own patio. Beds are turned down at night and sleeping in the absolute peace and quiet is pure bliss. 2 game drives per day do not leave for much relaxation time in between but they are well worth it as in the 4 game drives we had we saw 4 of the Big 5 (sadly no leopard) as well as a Cheetah. Rhino are plentiful and there are 2 Lion prides to search for. We were lucky enough to see both."

"We stayed 3 nights in Nungubane Lodge and had a wonderful time. The place is a real gem in the bush and the staff is great. They make sure that all is taken care of for you and make you feel at home. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with a big deck which gives you great views at the bush (and the stars at night). The food was great and clearly made with care. The game drives were very interesting with some rare sightings (a kill done by 2 cheetahs and a hunt by a pack of lions). The ranger provided very interesting information. All together we had a wonderful experience!"

"Spent the weekend at the Lodge. Staff very friendly, always smiling. Food was great and the game drives saw lots of animals and a good variety. Guide was knowledgeable. Would recommend it for sure. No crowds, lots of space, nature all around. Loved it."

"Our family had an excellent stay at Nungubane game lodge for 2 nights. Beautiful rooms, very clean and luxurious. Excellent food and very friendly staff. Small and exclusive lodge with only 5 rooms and a lot of attention to detail to make their guests comfortable. Very knowledgeable game rangers to make every game drive very interesting and worthwhile. Overall an excellent experience. We would definitely go back."

"Lodging is in 5 private chalets, each with large bath and beautiful deck. With only 10 guests possible, the feeling of being special is emphasized, with hot towels when returning from game drives, with wonderful meals and personalized attention. On the early morning and afternoon game drives Jacques found us lots of animals including some special time with a lioness and her three cubs. And it is so convenient from Johannesburg--a three hour car ride from the airport."

"Quaint private cottages with their own outdoor deck and outdoor shower with unparalleled privacy. The bedroom has a fireplace and wonderful character. Jacques led our game drives early morning for sunrise and every afternoon through sunset and into the evening. The landscape and wildlife are spectacular. The food was excellent. No bugs or malaria concerns. Bring binoculars and a good camera!"
