Sasaab is an approximate one and a half hour flight from Nairobi into Samburu National Reserve and within close reach of the Buffalo Springs National Reserve in northern Kenya.
Sasaab is perfectly located in a pristine wilderness region that is inhabited by an astounding number of animals including huge majestic elephant to lion, leopard and cheetah and the ‘Samburu Special Five’: the Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Gerenuk antelope and Somali ostrich.

The architecture of Sasaab follows strong Moroccan design principles, in which African heat is of primary consideration. Each of the nine Moroccan-styled rooms is over 100m² with an enormous open-air bathroom and private plunge pool. From the veranda, guests can take in the remarkable views across the Laikipia Plateau toward the jagged peak of Mount Kenya.
Each Luxury Room is individually decorated with a blend of Moroccan and Swahili style and offer majestic views of the landscape. The open-air rooms feature four-poster beds, enormous open-air bathrooms, and private plunge pools.
Families are recommended to stay in the Family Suite, as it boasts a shared central area and can be taken as an exclusive villa, with separate access. Extra beds can also be added, subject to availability.
Facilities at the lodge include a lounge, an outdoor dining area, private-in-room dining, and outdoor swimming pool. Sasaab also boasts its own spa (Spasaab) and uses Liz Earle skin care products and an assortment of natural Kenyan ingredients.

"Giada Claassen was efficient and very pleasant and helpful - a pleasure to work with. We were very pleased with everything. The accommodations were well chosen and we were very satisfied. Our only criticism perhaps would be with accessing Oyster Bay Lodge. The road accessing their property is so rough and filled with big rocks which could be better cleared. We hit a pot hole and it ripped part of the wheel off. While all the roads are gravel in that area, their property's road leading to the main bldg for check in was by far the worst."
"Excellent service. Very satisfactory. Can recommend them and will use them again for future bookings."
"Amazing! That was my first time to be in Africa. Before the trip i was not sure about Safari.com. Because of many speculative things about Africa. But it was a beautiful country i have ever seen. Safari.com helped me about transfers and lodge very quickly. I was very pleased about the Nkorho Bush Lodge and all employees. Thank you Safari.com."
