"We had only one night here unfortunately. This small hotel is quiet and tasteful, set in beautiful gardens. The room was large and very nicely decorated, with a big bathroom. Lovely bath and shower, lots of hot water. The area is safe, quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was excellent, served in a glassed area overlooking the gardens. We had dinner in the Italian restaurant a very short walk away. A good choice in Cape Town, close to a lot of attractions and not too far from the airport."

"We have just returned from two nights in this hotel. Our room was stunning, huge with a proper lounge area with 2 sofas and an easy chair and with a giant TV. Absolutely everything you might want, drinks, tea (with fresh milk in the fridge), fresh fruit. Huge comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. Fresh flowers everywhere and bathrobes and slippers provided. The whole hotel is pure luxury and the gardens are delightful. The staff are superb and nothing is too much trouble. Neville, the hotel driver, collected us from Cape Town and is available to take you to your dinner venue and collect you afterwards. The food was excellent also. We had sandwiches for lunch when we arrived and we had dinner in the hotel that night which was delicious. Afternoon tea with cake is included at 4pm and pre-dinner drinks at 7pm. My only regret is that we could only stay 2 nights!"

"Perfect location, beautiful setting, lovely rooms, welcoming staff, exceptional services, great privacy and I loved the attention to every little detail! This is a must return and overall great value."

"Cape Town is around 15 minutes drive from this wonderful country retreat situated behind table mountain and located well for travelling in the Cape region. Very large room, well equipped with everything you need. Hostess could not be more helpful - booking restaurants and cabs."

- Peter

"We traveled around SA for a few weeks from place to place and this was a fantastic find. staff are great, anything - anything can be accommodated and the quality or service, food, standard of rooms was cracking! this is one of those places that you'll compare all others too. We had the kids with us and the cost of two rooms was very competitive."

- Sean

"Wow fantastic spacious clean tidy. Bathroom was massive with bathrobes and slippers. Fridge in room with complimentary wine and soft drinks. Afternoon tea and cakes served at 4. A fridge in the massive communal lounge with beer and early evening drinks out to help yourself to. (all complimentary). TV with satellite box so plenty of channels. Fantastic colourful gardens and nice pool. Good breakfast buffet and individually freshly cooked."

"We stayed here for 2 nights and really recommend this unique hotel to anyone wanting to experience luxury and comfort on a more personal level. Ideally located for country trails/hikes as well as quick access to any point around the peninsula. Sam, Tessa and all the staff were fantastic and willing to assist with anything from dinner reservations to helpful tourism advice. We stayed in room 8 (or rather, suite 8), a huge, magnificent suite that has everything you desire (and more...!) at your fingertips. Breakfasts were 5 star and the crème brulee or chocolates on the bed at night were just the perfect indulgence to end off the day. We will be back!"

"We booked The Last Word "last minute" and were so happy when we arrived to be shown to a huge, lavish room with a stunning bathroom and sitting room. The location is central to everywhere you would want to explore. Everything from the bed linen, the breakfast, wonderful service and thoughtfulness of the staff is simply first class. There are only a few rooms which makes this perfect little hotel a peaceful haven set in the hear of Constantia. We will return. One of the most peaceful vacations I have had."

- Alan

"We stayed at The Last Word in November for a week and had a very relaxing and peaceful time. The room was very large with a fantastic bathroom and lead out onto the most beautiful garden. Every afternoon when we stepped back into the hotel it was like stepping into another world, cool and quiet and peaceful after a busy day in Cape Town. The breakfasts are delicious, we tried something new each day. Thank you to the very friendly staff for looking after us, we hope to see you soon!"

- Shelley

"My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights with friends and wanted to stay forever! Every member of staff we met was truly above-and-beyond the normal hotel employee you meet. Nothing was too much trouble. Nicki the general manager, Tessa and Sam the onsite managers, Beauty the waitress and Neville the driver - we miss them all so much. From the moment you get beyond the high metal gated entrance you find yourself in a different world - a world of tranquility, beauty and serenity. Everyone is so unbelievably welcoming that you really do feel like you're part of the family. You get to know all the other guests by seeing them at breakfast or for high tea - both these occasions are a must to experience. Then there was Alan Ford a famous TV presenter from Joburg and originally from the Lebanon. You will probably meet him as he seems to spend a lot of time chilling here and is really a member of the "family" - a thoroughly great chap. Finally, our suite with a plunge pool which was a haven within a haven. We want to live here!!! Do yourself a great favour and if in the area do not stay anywhere else as this is a place you will always remember with fondness. We want to give it 10 stars."
