"Tshwene Lodge was nothing like we expected in actual fact we enjoyed it much more than some of the usual run if the mill lodges at Welgevonden. Gregg and his team felt like family after our weekend there and we had an amazing time with the other 3 couples at the lodge. Game drives were fun and so enjoyable, we laughed and had a ball of a weekend. ( I guess we were also very lucky since the other couples were all very light hearted and fun) On arrival bags and tents were mixed up but since we were all in a holiday mood this bothered very little. Food was excellent, prepared by local chef LapTop and the wine collection was vast and well priced. ( even had my favourite Springfield Whole Berry ) we didn't see that much game but all in all we had a fabulous weekend."

"Truly a memorable weekend, thanks to Tshwene Lodge - where you arrive as a guest and leave as family. The staff, with genuine smiles on their faces is what makes this lodge so special. Sina, the chef who has been at the lodge for many years, makes food with love. You can taste the love in her meals. Sam the ranger has a wonderful personality and always goes the extra mile to provide extra info on animals, whether big or small, while on game drive. Greg and his team arranged the most amazing proposal for me, what a special moment which I will remember forever. Tshwene Lodge rooms have lovely elevated views of the bush and mountains close by. The Lodge is always neat and tidy with a warm and vibrant atmosphere... even in winter! Well done Tshwene family, keep up the great work and I will definitely see you all again soon."

"We booked the lodge out for a bachalorette and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were attentive and warm, the food was great and the accommodation was luxurious. We were made to feel like it was a home away from home. The lodge itself is set high up, giving fabulous vistas and it is very quiet. It was a special weekend away. It is ideal for a weekend away, given it's close proximity to Johannesburg. Being Malaria free is also a bonus. We will definitely travel there again soon."

"Our stay at Tshwene was magical. The room was comfortable, spacious and had all the relevant modcons such as a Braun hairdryer. The staff was amazing, professional, friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until we left. We stayed for three nights. The lodge was full when we arrived but all the other guests left on the following morning, meaning we had the whole lodge to ourselves for two days and nights - uber-romantic. The food was also fresh and delicious. The reserve itself is beautiful and we managed to see some game during our stay. Thanks for making our break a memorable one."

"From the minute we arrived to our goodbyes the staff at Tshwene lodge were extremely welcoming and friendly. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and the food was definitely always a five star meal. We had amazing game drives seeing lions, cheetah, giraffes, elephant and many more. Our tour guide Sam was knowledgeable and was always seen with a smile. The lodge made every effort to plan the most romantic evening where my boyfriend proposed to me under the night sky on our balcony overlooking the game reserve. They made us feel very special. A big thank you to all the staff and management of Tshwene lodge for making our engagement a very memorable trip."

"This was our first trip to Welgevonden and Tshwene Lodge, and our experience was wonderful. From the moment we were picked up at the main gate it was clear that the staff at Tshwene Lodge have a customer centric approach and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. The delicious food, lovely accommodation, friendly staff, and the unbelievable game drives - Tshwene Lodge is certainly a place my husband and I would love to visit again. Thank you to Heath, Bridgette and your entire team for making our stay a memorable one. A special mention must be made for Sam, our Guide on the Game Drives - you were fantastic, and took such good care of us - you are a true asset to Tshwene Lodge!"

"If you have ever been a fan of the writer, poet and doctor Eugene Marais of the Waterberg, you will fall in love with the Welgevonden area. Book a stay at Tshwene lodge and relax and enjoy every moment. From the pick-up when you arrive, up to the drop-off after your stay, at the main gate. It is an unique, unpretentious Waterberg lodge, depicting the area with excellent food, accommodation and staff. True gem without frills. Hope to be back"

"Enjoyed a wonderful stay with great accommodation, wonderful staff and stunning game viewing. Although it was very cold we were looked after well and never felt uncomfortable. The staff was friendly and showed a genuine interest in our welfare."

"The service from Sinah and the team was fantastic. From the time we arrived to the goodbyes, nothing was too much trouble. Arriving after game drives, guests were greeted by Jack with warm towels to wipe away the dust. Whether it was extra rusks in the room to a special occasion birthday cake, every request was met with a smile. The room was great with excellent quality bed linen and a fully stocked coffee station. The lodge is tucked away in a valley with lovely views. The amount of steps may be a problem for older people. The camp is not fenced, which adds to a sense of excitement - any animal may walk into the camp at any moment. Evidence in the form of droppings from the elephant having visited the pool is a reminder that you are indeed in the bush. We absolutely loved Sinah's cooking, she is a gem!"
