This three-day tour provides an elite safari experience in the renowned Sabi Sands Game Reserve, sharing 50 kilometers of its unfenced boundary line with neighboring Kruger National Park. Animals pass casually between the two parks, unhindered and abundant. The Sabi Sands is known for its prolific wildlife and phenomenal cat sightings, particularly of the elusive and beautiful leopard. The Sabi Sands is one of the best places in Africa to see the famous Big Five.
You will spend the next three days exploring the African bushveld on dawn and dusk open-vehicle game drives and exhilarating mid-morning bush walks that highlight the fascinating fauna and flora of the African bush.
Other activities to look forward too include bird watching, bush dining, treehouse sleep-out experiences, hippo tours, astronomy, a local school visit, spa treatments and wildlife lectures.
The luxurious 5-star Lion Sands River Lodge will be your home for the next three days and guests will experience elegant suites, world-class facilities, superior hospitality, and exquisite African cuisine.
This tour is ideal for solo explorers, couples, and families looking for a luxury big five safari adventure.
Your safari adventure begins today with a flight from Johannesburg's OR Tambo Airport to Skukuza Airport. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the lodge for check-in.
Depending on your time of arrival, you may venture out on your first-afternoon game in search of wildlife including the Big 5. Game drives are approximately three and a half hours to four hours long with a stop to enjoy your favorite drink whilst looking upon the most majestic sunset. You return to camp in the early evening to enjoy a perfectly prepared meal under the African sky.
The next two days will be spent exploring the bushveld on morning and afternoon game drives and if you are feeling adventurous, you may choose to venture out on the mid-morning bush walk with your guide. Bush walks are truly unique as they allow you to discover the beauty of the African wilderness.
Accommodation: Lion Sands River Lodge
This morning you venture out on your last game drive in the African bush before returning to the lodge for a scrumptious breakfast. You will have some time to freshen up and pack up your belongings before saying your goodbyes and transferring to the airport for your flight back to Johannesburg's OR Tambo Airport.
On arrival, you will connect with your onward flight back home. You may leave South Africa with a heavy heart but not without some unforgettable experiences that will stay etched in your memory for a lifetime.
Lion Sands River Lodge
Lion Sands River Lodge is a sophisticated interpretation of the traditional safari lodge, with light and bright contemporary décor, and limited walls allowing a flow between the inside and out. Wooden walkways lead off to a spa, gym and pool, and back to the main lodge, where the deck’s connected water features give the impression of floating on the river. Whether you enjoy your time socially or quietly in the bar, restaurant, MORE Gallery (with guest Creative Lab) or firepit lounge, the running theme here is luxury living.

Wonderful experience with Safari.com
Wonderful experience with Safari.com. My Safari Agent, Dolan, has 20+ years of experience in booking a memorable safari. He guided me in picking the right lodging and safari within my budget. He offered several options and answered all my questions. His response time was fast, regardless of the international time difference, and we were able to make quick decisions. Highly recommend.

Safari booked. SA here I come.
I have never been to SA before, so naturally I was a bit apprehensive about booking a safari on my own. I turned to safari.com for help and I'm so glad I did. Keith was so helpful, patient and saved me money! That's a win, win, win. I would recommend safari.com to anyone planning their trip and their experiences in SA.

Great customer service
Heleen went out of her way to find us accommodation. We left our planning way to late and were looking at the busiest time of year yet she worked her magic.
