Everything ok at SATARA camp. A wonderful stay , we will return asap
Again, a very pleasant stay in a clean and neat bungalow. All staff were always very helpful in a friendly manner. Look forward to another visit.
The accommodation was great and the camp is well look after. In fact , all the camps we visited was looking very good and all the Restaurant areas, is of high quality and a really plus for South African tourism.Thanks.
Bungalows need some maintenance but otherwise good.Restaurant OK.
Lovely location, wildlife close to river. Drought affecting wildlife away from water.
This is our 4th visit to the park - first was 1996 - and we always stay at Satara and for the longest time if possible. It's our favorite place to stay. It's a wonderful very well run camp. It doesn't have the stunning views of Olifant, Letaba or Lower Sabie but inside the camp is very pleasant. The cottages are simple. spacious and extremely well designed - I would suggest the park use them as template. The shop is well stocked and well run and the restaurant - now a Mugg & Bean is nice and also well run.One of our favourite drives out of here is north to Olifants for lunch (another M&B with a stunning view) and the game viewing on the road never disappoints.Overall: Satara in excellent.
A great weekend. All clean and neat. Saw lots of interesting things. Lions killed two buffalo 10 meter from each other. Lions killed blou wildebeest 200 metres from fence at Satara. 3 lion cubs plying next to main road no mothers in sight. Satara bush cat visit us in camping area.Hippo 3 metres from car gracing next to main rd and many more.
Stanley House at Satara is excellent. The house is very spacious and comfortable. The waterhole outside the fence is Awesome, with a great variety of animals using it all through the day.
If the showers in two of the en-suite-bathrooms could be improved, it would be faultless!
Had a lovely stay despite the heat wave. The aircon units in the bungalows definitely make the stay comfortable.
Satara certainly deserves it's name as the top camp in Kruger. Extremely well run and all the game viewing was superb. We also loved Mug and Bean.
We had a fantastic time at Satara, it was a wonderful experience!
Always enjoyed Satara, awesome camp.
Th team of staff at Satara were both kind and helpful. I fell ill and the concern and compassion they had was heart warming. Will most certainly go back.
Satara was by far the best camp and I would go back to stay there again anytime, the bungalow was great, the staff and restaurants where good and we had a fantastic game drive with Cindy, she was amazing and would give her 10/10. We are very happy that we spent 2 nights at this camp!
We had a very pleasant stay. The cleaning services came early every morning and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Well resourced camp in a central area. Very comfy rooms.
We are very satisfied with the stay in this camp.
Nice place, not too close to the neighbors.
We love Satara. It is our favorite camp. I would have stayed there forever if I could afford it.
Were there just 1 night. Was ok.
It was a great bungalow with beautiful view.
This was a very pleasant stay and the chalet was very clean and well kept.
Camp Receptionist was very friendly. Bungalow was very neat and clean. Everything went so smooth from checking in at Phalaborwa Gate. Can see why Satara camp won as best camp for so many years.
Totally loved our accommodation here and again saw loads of game.
The people at reception were friendly and helpful and even though our key did not fit, they sent someone immediately. The accommodation was comfortable and clean.
Absolute fantastic. Bungalows very very clean, peaceful,no load music, no hooting and just the sound of animals. Will definitely go more often. The person at shops and bungalows were absolute helpful and friendly as well as Mrs. Astleigh Pannell, her friendly and helpful manner when booking trips.
My wife and I loved the whole park. Every corner. Keep it up like that. I also appreciate the effort in keeping the park clean.
Keep up the good work!
A comfortable camp, nice facilities, good Mugg and Bean. Excellent game viewing - we saw two lion kills and a leopard kill. Very exciting. Could have stayed longer!
We had a wonderful time and the bungalows were just perfect for the overnight stays. The stores & restaurants were just what we needed as well. I loved the ability to stay in the park. We have lived her 3 years & will keep coming back!!
Satara was clean and comfortable and the staff very professional and pleasant.
Bungalow were very clean and ready when we arrived. All appliances were in good working order. Cleaning services were very good. All facilities in the camp were clean, neat and well maintained. We had an excellent experience.
The park is always a winner. At the rate the park's accommodation is growing, it is a good idea to add new roads to thin the traffic out.
We really enjoyed staying here and the bungalow was excellent!
Enjoyed the stay, no problems.
This Camp is the nest Situated Camp I have ever stayed in for Big Cat sightings. In One day we got 7 different Lion sightings and two Leopard sightings . There were other days when we had Cheetah close to the camp, Leopard and Lion within 2kms from the Camp entrance.
Enjoyed pleasant staff and facilities. Have reservation over M&B.
Satara is situated in a great game viewing area.
The bungalow was well maintained and equipped and all the bungalows are arranged in a circle with the barbecue areas facing a park with nice trees.
Hubby and I stayed at Satara Rest Camp and had the most fantastic time. On day two there was a lion kill right outside the camp site with four male lions that had brought down a buffalo, what a sight. The shop was well stocked with all basics, the facilities and ablutions were clean and the staff very friendly. We are going to make this an annual trip and cant wait for next year's adventure.
Loved everything about this camp.
Baie mooi skoon en vriendelike personeel. braaie areas altyd skoon gemaak. .ablusieblokke 10 uit 10
A rather busy camp but everything was as good as we could have hoped for. We loved everything!
What a wonderful trip! Excellent sightings.
We just love Satara! The units are clean and tidy and have all the necessary amenities for an enjoyable stay. GREAT location, lovely sightings! We went to watch the night show and we loved it, so informative and to get to watch it under the stars is just awesome. Would stay there forever!
Really enjoyed this camp. Very nice for game viewing. Saw the big 5 in the vicinity of this camp. Centrally located and very good facilities.
Our two day stay at Satara was brilliant. Our 3 bed Rondavel was spotlessly clean, comfortable and conveniently situated in the camp which is beautifully maintained. The daily entertainment provided by the different species of birds, monkeys, banded mongoose and a honey badger (Ratel) made for a very enjoyable and memorable stay. The Mug & Bean restaurant provided excellent meals served by friendly smiling staff.
Satara staff are commended for their friendliness, quiet efficiency and great smiles.
A highlight of our stay was a sunrise game drive in the company of a wonderful knowledgeable Edward. He had an excellent sense of humour and an expert eye for some of the parks wonderful small night creatures. Thank you for 3 hrs of sheer bliss.
Nice bungalow location. Spacious and clean.
We stayed in a new chalet and thought it was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Service at reception was friendly and helpful.
Loved it!!
As this was our first trip to the Kruger we did not know what to expectI have to say that we were blown away - what fantastic service we received - the staff were friendly, helpful and very professional!A big element of spoiling and treating for us was the fact that each morning after we had left bright and early on our morning drives - the staff had come in and made our beds - holiday bliss! The camp is ideally located and we were really lucky in our sightings - during our stay we went on a sunset drive and the ranger was knowledgeable and very approachable. The other services in the camp such as the communal kitchens were always clean and neat. The shops and restaurants were a delight and we could find everything and more that we might have neededThe camp quickly settled into our hearts and we will most certainly be back!
Wonderful. The improvement of the camp is great.
The professionalism and enthusiasm from the personnel is heartwarming! SANParks give me hope for SA future in conservation!
Excellent service. We had a wonderful nature experience.
Staff at arrival at the Orpen gate as well as Satara rest camp were friendly and well prepared with all administrative matters . It was finalized within minutes.
Satara provides a peaceful sanctuary after a long days game viewing. It has old world charm with its rondavels, it has modern day eating facilities and the camp is well maintained in most respects.
Always a favourite, the best camp in the Kruger! Excellent drives and friendly staff. How about losing the shower curtain in exchange for a glass door!
Satara is a busy camp with lots of people. It is very well situated and we saw a great deal of game in that area. It is well furnished and maintained and I would recommend staying at this camp.
A beautiful quiet time and bungalow and facilities.
Overall good service and effective and helpful staff.
Facilities clean and accommodation value for money
Our stay at the different camps was absolutely fantastic. Each camp has its own unique charm and we enjoyed every moment of it. We relaxed; it was quite, clean, green and just overall âlekkerâ. I will definitely stay at each of the camps again and the staff was always friendly and helpful. Thanks for making our stay so memorable.
We love Satara camp. Camp is clean and so peaceful. We go to the Park to have a well deserved break and that's what we get every time.
The best position for a relaxed holiday with the most animal entertainment on your door step
Definitely recommended by the bush doctor.
The most beautiful sunsets ever seen!!
Beautifully renovated bungalows, very comfortable and clean. Found all the staff throughout the Park helpful and polite
A perfect accommodation for a stay in the Kruger Park.
Satara never disappoints - full but lovely camp site - clean ablutions - and the best game drive out of all the camps!! Great staff at reception, housekeeping & game ranger
This was our 3rd stay at Satara. The last was in 2010. We were so impressed with the upgrades to the ablutions and the overall maintenance at the camp. The pool was nice and clean. The staff was very competent and friendly. Well done KNP I will now recommend this camp to all I know. Great stay we were sad to leave.
Camping site was clean, the bathroom were clean but there was no working soap dispenser. The night drive was very good, professional, Shop was well stocked, friendly staff at reception.
Self catering rondawel. Lekker om alles te hê by jou in die middel van die reis. Kon lekker batterye(siel) herlaai. O en skoon.
Lovely camp, staff at the office helpful and friendly. Accommodation was clean and would go back for a longer stay next time.
This camp provides everything. Good sightings. Everything was clean and tidy.
This was a nice camp. the only problem is that there was load-shedding for both days. two hours the first day and most of the evening of the second day which was disappointing. We understand that it was not the parks fault.
I stayed at satara rest camp for 5 nights and found the staff and accommodation were fantastic. The bungalow chalets are well maintained and have all the equipment you need for cooking by braai and 2 hot plates and microwave. The added bonus is the visits that you may experience while sat with the braai. We had African Wild Cat, Honey badger and small spotted genet all scavenging for left over foods but this makes you aware of clearing up after yourselves and respecting the use of bins. Great stay.
The camp is quite a big camp, with lots of facilities.
The morning walk was great - we learnt how to track animals and were lucky enough to see wildebeest, lions, giraffe and white rhinos. On the sunset drive, we also saw lions and a black mamba.
Regular visitor to Satara and grand as always. Great atmosphere and superb night drive. Huts are excellent.
Excellent service, affordable camping, clean ablutions. Maybe more portable type of toilet along the long routes.
The Accommodation is 5 * and the camp site is very neat and clean and we will definitely stay at Satara again.
Enjoyed my stay very much and reception were polite and efficient.
The new grass on roofs 117 up to 119 looks perfect
Crowded but room to breathe and friendly staff
Satara was great. We actually couldn't believe how well equipped the place was. The little rondavel had everything you'd need for an extended stay. From the cooking facilities & equipment to the braai to the air-con and fan to the comfortable beds and obviously the location inside the magnificent Kruger Park. Unfortunately we were only passing through and stayed for 1 night, but we wouldn't hesitate to stay for longer and actually wish we had.
Had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. Will do it again
Lovely stay , great staff.
The kitchen utensils could be improved.
No small sharp knife or tin opener that worked.
Hard to cope with if you are an overseas visitor!
It was a new camp from 2013. The staff were fun to talk to the food excellent and we even bought a new pair of binoculars in the shop. The staff had been trained and this gave them confidence. The camp has always been clean and this trip was no exception. Congratulations
We enjoyed our stay Very much, and we will recommend camping at SATARA RESTCAMP too, for sure.
Lovely camp, saw plently animals around Satara, our best game viewing ever. Camp is lovely, ablutions are clean and well maintained. More gravel should be put down on the camp sites to prevent the terrible mud pools after the rain.
We stopped at Tsokwane for lunch on the 28th and that was really disappointment. Food of very poor quality, bread rolls tasted like parafin, russian and chips was cold and old. My ham and cheese was not nice. The monkeys and baboons are out of control even attacking a group of patrons sitting at the table in front of use without being provoked. Very scary. KNP will always be our number one choice of holiday destination.
The camp's facilities are most comfortable and well thought out. Authenticity is obvious and the ambiance is inspiring. Definitely worth a stay, whether you are a local visitor or an international traveler wanting a uniquely South African experience.
Dit was baie lekker en die kamp was pragtig skoon.
Friendly staff, sites great
We were totally impressed by the kindness off all the staff. The park accomodation was great and everything we wanted
