Travellers to Tanzania have two options for obtaining a visa, the Online Visa Platform and the On-Arrival Visa Platform. It is strongly recommended that all travellers apply through the Online Visa Platform.
The On-Arrival Platform is for travellers not classified under the referral visa category, verifiable on the official visa website.

The required information varies depending on the visa type, but all travellers must provide the following.
- Passport
- Must be valid for at least six months after arrival and have one blank page.
- Copy of passport biometric page
- A clear scan or photograph of the passport biometric page.
- Recent passport-style photograph
- A current photograph that meets passport photo standards.
- Return flight ticket
- Confirmation of your return or onward flight.
- Contact details
- Email address and phone numbers.
- Itinerary confirmation
- A full travel itinerary covering your time in Tanzania.
- Proof of accommodation booking(s)
- Booking confirmations for each lodge or hotel.
- Payment method
- Visa or MasterCard, or SWIFT transfer.

The Ordinary (Single Entry) Visa is $50 USD for most nationalities. US passport holders are only eligible for the Multiple Entry Visa at $100 USD.
