The story
A bit of Sabi Sabi Game Reserve history.
Sabi Sabi was founded in 1979 by Hilton and Jacqui Loock, and remains a single-family-owned reserve within Sabi Sand. It pioneered photographic-only safari tourism in South Africa at a time when most surrounding properties were still hunting concessions.
Four lodges: Bush, Earth, Little Bush and Selati. Sit on the same 65,000-acre concession, each pitched at a different aesthetic register from contemporary architectural statement to colonial-era charm.

The Sabi Sabi Game Reserve way
Why Sabi Sabi Game Reserve.
Sabi Sabi guides have been on the same patch of land for decades; many were tracked by their fathers before them. The wildlife knows the vehicles, which is why the leopard sightings here are routinely closer and longer than anywhere else in Sabi Sand.
It is the safari we recommend for first-time guests who want certainty: Big Five, photographic, family-owned, no surprises.
