Why we include it

Because every traveller should.

Africa is far from home for most of our guests. The flights are long, the schedules are tight, and the trips of a lifetime deserve a quiet safety net underneath them. We include comprehensive travel insurance on every booking made and paid in full before 25th September 2026, so you can travel without the calculation.

The cover sits with SATIB, a leading South Africa-based travel insurer. We negotiated the agreement at company level so the rates are sharper than buying individually. The complimentary policy covers the parts of your trip booked and paid for through us, across accommodation, flights and car hire. Travellers up to age 80 are eligible.

What the complimentary cover applies to

Complimentary cover applies only to the parts of your trip booked with us. If we arrange your whole itinerary, your whole itinerary is covered. If you book a night or two with us and the rest of your trip elsewhere, the complimentary policy covers what is on our booking, not the days booked elsewhere.

One policy over the whole journey is still worth having. Your specialist can extend the cover to the parts you have booked on your own at an additional cost, so everything sits under a single policy with one set of documents and one number to call. The simplest route to full cover, of course, is to let us arrange the whole trip.

If you want more cover

Three tiers run from the included Bronze through to Gold and CFAR. Most travellers stay on Bronze. If you are travelling longer, want political and natural-disaster evacuation, or want the freedom to cancel for any reason at all, the upgrades are there.

Pre-existing conditions and longer trips

The included Bronze policy covers most travellers and most trips. If you have pre-existing medical conditions, are travelling for longer than 31 days, or want higher limits, your specialist will help you arrange a top-up policy with SATIB.

When cover starts

Your policy activates on receipt of your deposit and the issuance of the official policy documents. To avoid any gap in cover, please send the required traveller details to your specialist as soon as possible after paying.

How to make a claim

We send the policy documents and 24-hour assistance numbers as soon as your booking is confirmed. Your specialist stays reachable on WhatsApp throughout, so if anything happens on the road, you have one number to call.
