The story
A bit of Lion Sands Game Reserve history.
The Rocco family bought their slice of the Sabie River in 1933, and Lion Sands has been a private safari destination on the same family-held land ever since. Three generations on, the reserve borders Kruger National Park to the east and Sabi Sand to the west. Game moves freely across all three.
Four lodges now sit along this riverine concession: Ivory, River, Tinga, and Narina. Each a different mood on the same piece of bush.

The Lion Sands Game Reserve way
Why Lion Sands Game Reserve.
Lion Sands sits where Kruger meets Sabi Sand, which means traversing rights into both. The result is a Big Five density few private reserves can match, with the river itself drawing leopard and elephant down to the banks at sundown.
Family ownership shows up in the small things. Long-tenured staff, a loyal returning clientele, and a willingness to bend the standard safari template when guests want something specific.
