A sophisticated safari experience is offered in nine waterside havens, capturing the romance of the pioneer era with considerable comfort.
Lion Sands Tinga Lodge’s exclusive accommodations are positioned on a high bank overlooking the Sabie River. Every suite offers a sense of complete privacy, with its own plunge pool and deck overlooking the water—a view that often brings glimpses of wildlife passing by. Elevated wooden pathways connect the suites to the spa sala, as well as the main lodge, which features a bar lounge, library, poolside, and a boma. These spaces provide opportunities for shared connection or serene solitude.
Each suite includes a king-sized bed (with mosquito netting), air conditioning, Wi-Fi access, a private lounge, and a luxurious bath and shower. The Tinga experience is designed to be intimate and personal, an ideal retreat for anyone seeking an authentic African escape.
Step out through your suite’s glass sliding doors to a private deck, where you can enjoy pool lounger safaris, dining experiences tailored just for you, or al fresco showers under the stars. Last minute
South African and SADC residents booking within 60 days of travel enjoy a significantly reduced rate for stays until 19 December 2026. A South African ID or SADC passport is required, the rate applies to new bookings only and it cannot be used with any other MORE Collection promotion or special rate.
Long stay
Book a combined safari and coastal itinerary of at least three nights at Lion Sands Tinga Lodge and three nights at Santorini Mozambique and receive 10% off the accommodation portion of both stays, along with one complimentary night in the Tinyeleti Treehouse at Tinga and, at Santorini, a shared or private Bazaruto Island catamaran excursion and a 75-minute Signature Spa Treatment. Valid for travel 1 June 2026 to 20 December 2027, excluding 20 December to 10 January at both properties and the Santorini closure from 5 February 2027 to 14 March 2027. Each property is reserved separately and the offer must be requested at the time of booking; maximum five rooms (ten guests) per reservation, and it cannot be combined with other offers apart from Friends of MORE.
Family
Children from six years of age are welcome, with those aged 6 to 15 charged at 50% of the adult per person sharing rate and 16 years and older at the full adult rate. Two suites accommodate a third guest, who must be a child under 16 and is charged at 50% of the per person sharing rate; triple occupancy is not available from 20 December to 3 January. The Mack and Madi Kids' Adventure Explorers programme is included and runs at Tinga Lodge only.
Bush & beach
Pair the Sabie River with the Mozambique coast: three nights or more at Lion Sands Tinga Lodge combined with three nights or more at Santorini Mozambique earns 10% off accommodation at both, plus a complimentary night in Tinga's Tinyeleti Treehouse, a Bazaruto Island catamaran excursion with snorkelling at Two Mile Reef and a 75-minute Signature Spa Treatment. Travel dates run from 1 June 2026 to 20 December 2027, with block-out from 20 December to 10 January and Santorini closed 5 February 2027 to 14 March 2027. Bookings are made separately with each property, the offer must be specified when reserving, and the included experiences are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

Standard Tinga Lodge suites accept children from age 6. Younger children (all ages) can be accommodated via the Hinkwenu Residence, a 2-bedroom exclusive-use villa for up to 6 guests (4 adults + 2 children) which includes a dedicated concierge, housekeeper, butler, chef, child minding, and a private vehicle with two private game drives daily. Standard suites share a 6-guest vehicle; private safari vehicles are available on request but must be booked for the full stay and are NOT available over the peak period (20 Dec – 3 Jan). There are no interleading suites at Tinga Lodge. Note: other MORE Collection Lion Sands properties have stricter minimums (River, Ivory & Monwana 10+; Narina & Marataba Mountain 16+).

Tinyeleti Treehouse
The Tinyeleti Treehouse is an overnight sleep-out experience exclusive to guests staying at Lion Sands Tinga Lodge (or Narina Lodge). It accommodates up to 2 adults and 2 children aged 6–15 years and is booked as a separate paid activity. Reservations must be confirmed at time of booking and the experience is weather dependent, with a full refund or alternative date offered if conditions prevent use.
