The Detail
Ivory Lodge is the understated jewel in Lion Sands' crown. Here, hospitality is designed entirely around YOU (from customized spa therapies and private dining to safaris with surprise refreshment stops). Luxury – much more than a sophisticated room in an exotic location – has substance.
The lodge’s eight one-bedroom villas, set secluded at the confluence of the Sabie and Sand Rivers, are the ultimate bush retreats. Your private lounge, patio, deck, and pool invite easy relaxation, while a dedicated team of staff is always on hand to take care of your every whim and fancy. Everything is included – from a champagne-stocked minibar to the washing and pressing of your favorite shirt – to create a highly personalized safari experience, tailored to you.
The lodge also includes the two-bedroom Fish Eagle Villa, offering the ultimate in private luxury and personalized service for a family or group of friends. Everything is included – from your own pool and spa to a personal chef, field guide, and game-viewer vehicle – for a tailor-made South African safari. Stay & Pay
Stay four nights and pay for three, with one night free on the applicable accommodation rate. Available for travel until 31 May 2027, excluding 1 June to 30 September and 20 December to 3 January, and subject to suite availability. Valid for individual bookings of up to five rooms or ten guests, and the offer must be requested at the time of enquiry.
Honeymoon
Honeymooners receive 50% off accommodation for one of the two guests on a minimum three-night stay. Valid for travel until 31 May 2027, excluding 20 December to 3 January, and applicable to Ivory Lodge suites only, not to Fish Eagle Residence. Limited to individual bookings of up to five rooms or ten guests; please specify the offer when reserving.
Long stay
Book two or more MORE Family Collection properties and receive 10% off accommodation at each, for travel until 31 May 2027, excluding 20 December to 3 January. Alternatively, two or more nights at both Monwana Game Lodge and Ivory Lodge earn 10% off accommodation plus a complimentary Federal Airlines connecting flight between Skukuza Airport and Thornybush Airstrip, for travel until 30 April 2027, excluding 20 December to 3 January; the free flight applies to a minimum of two adults, with children paying the applicable fare, and landing, park, conservation and Impact Levy charges are excluded. Both offers are for individual bookings of up to five rooms or ten guests, cannot be combined with other promotions, and must be named at the time of enquiry. Returning guests and their accompanying family and friends may also request 10% off accommodation, which can be combined with other offers.
Bush & beach
Combine three nights at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge with three nights at Santorini Mozambique and receive 10% off accommodation at each property, along with one complimentary night in one of Lion Sands' private treehouses and, at Santorini, a Bazaruto Island catamaran excursion and a 75-minute signature spa treatment. Valid for travel until 20 December 2027, excluding 20 December to 10 January and the Santorini closure from 5 February to 14 March 2027. Each property must be reserved separately through its own reservations team, the offer applies to a maximum of five rooms or ten guests, the discount is not combinable with other promotions, and the included extras are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, including in the event of poor weather.

Ivory Lodge itself has no triple or interleading suites and applies a minimum age of 10 for standard Suite stays, with walking safaris restricted to 16+. The 3-bedroom Fish Eagle Residence (exclusive-use, max 8 pax / 6 adults + 2 children) is the family workaround: it includes a private vehicle with two private game drives daily, a dedicated chef, butler, housekeeper and child minding, and the group-wide Mack & Madi Kids' Adventure Programme activities can be hosted there for ages 6+. Per the Lion Sands child policy, children aged 5 and under are not permitted on game drives or safari activities at Ivory Lodge under any arrangement. The Mack & Madi programme's dedicated on-site facilities sit at Tinga Lodge's Owl House.

The Chalkley Treehouse is an elevated sleep-out structure at Lion Sands Game Reserve, exclusively available to guests staying at Ivory Lodge or River Lodge. It accommodates a maximum of 2 adults (no children) for an overnight experience under the stars in the Sabi Sands. Advance reservation is essential and must be confirmed at time of booking; the experience is weather dependent and classed as an activity.

"Very helpful with itinerary and excellent arrangements of transport from and to Cape Town, and Idubi in Sabi Sands and Lukimbi in Kruger. Although a rep for Safari.com said a letter from a doctor was not required, such a letter IS REQUIRED to go on bush walks if older than 65. Fortunately, we checked the reserve web site and had a doctor's letter."
