The story
A bit of Mala Mala Game Reserve history.
MalaMala is the oldest private game reserve in South Africa, with the Rattray family holding the concession since 1964. The reserve carved out the original photographic-safari template that the rest of Sabi Sand now follows.
Three camps: Main, Sable, and Rattray’s. Sit on the same 33,000-acre concession on the Sand River, sharing eight kilometres of unfenced border with Kruger.

The Mala Mala Game Reserve way
Why Mala Mala Game Reserve.
MalaMala has the highest leopard-sighting density of any private reserve in southern Africa, by a meaningful margin. A function of habitat, time, and the smallest guide–ranger ratios in the industry.
It is the safari we recommend for the second or third trip, when guests want predator viewing intensity above all else.
