MalaMala Camp welcomes children of all ages to stay, but children aged 5 and under are not permitted on standard game drives — parents must reserve a private safari vehicle at additional cost (R6,990 per empty seat/day in 2027; R6,350 in 2026, out of 6 seats). Children under 6 on a private vehicle with parents are charged at the empty-seat rate. Children younger than 5 are subject to specific terms regarding dining venues and safari vehicles. Policies differ across the three MalaMala camps: Sable Camp does not permit children under 12 unless exclusive use is booked; Rattray's Camp does not permit children under 16 unless exclusive use is booked (then children 12+ welcome). Walking safaris are not a standard offering at this camp.

"Our contact at Safari.com was fantastic. She was able to answer all my questions, or find and out then text me back. Communication using email and WhatsApp was excellent. While planning our trip we had a large change and Denise was able to work with our Safari lodge to find a solution, which solved it. Booking went smoothly, suggestions about the trip were very helpful and I felt I was working with a professional who wanted the best experience for my family."
