Hamiltons Tented Camp is situated in the private Mluwati Concession of the renowned Kruger National Park. With only three lodges in the area, Hamiltons offers an exclusive safari experience. Reminiscent of an 'Out of Africa' experience, Hamilton's pays tribute to those whose envisioned a reserve that conserved Africa's beloved wildlife.
Built entirely of canvas upon high wooden platforms and set among magnificent old Jackalberry and Sausage trees, Hamiltons offer six vintage-safari styled tents that boast king-size canopy beds draped with mosquito netting, opulent en-suite bathrooms with baths and outdoor showers overlooking the river, private verandahs offer magnificent views of the Nwatswitsonto River.
The raised deck offers spectacular views of the bush and the private swimming pool is perfect for a swim and refreshing drink during the heat of the day. Other lodge facilities include a large comfortable lounge, dining room, a butler service and wellness treatments in the pool area, or in your suite.
As one of the first private concessions in the Kruger National Park, Mluwati has worked tirelessly to ensure the sustainability of this pristine wilderness that for over 100 years has been a sanctuary for over 114 reptiles, 34 amphibians and 147 mammal species, including Africa’s Big Five.
Early morning and late afternoon game drives are led by experienced and informative rangers.
Join your guide on a one and a half hour walk in the Private Concession and learn about the smaller wondrous creatures of the African bush. Your guide will explain the art of animal tracking, and the different fauna and flora that inhabit the reserve.
Keen birders will delight in the hundreds of bird species that call the Kruger home. Over 500 species, in fact, many of which occur in the Mluwati Concession including the Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill, Crested Barbet and Burchell’s Glossy Starling.

"Excellent staff and service.Ocker the guide was outstanding."

"Hamiltons Tented Camp was such a great experience! The room was beautiful, the food was great and the service was fantastic.I would recommend this to any nature lover that enjoys a bit of luxury."

"If you want great sightings, then Hamilton's Tented Camp is one of my top choices. We came across a Leopard within the first 5 minutes of our game drive. This was followed by a lion jumping ontop of a Hippo that had been killed the night before by the resident bull. The best room is Tent #1, which has great views of the water hole."
- Ric Meulemans
"Hamiltons is a couples safari lodge, you have supper on your own table for two, lit by candlethe setting is perfect with a watering hole just below you where you will see all the animals you could want.the walk to the tents over a wooden walkway is fantastic, the elephants come right up to you and the tents themselves are luxourious with aircon, showers outside to watch the animals and bathtubs inside with good viewsa very special lodge"

"The impression of Hamilton's Tented camp that is indelibly engraved in mind is the friendly service I received from every single staff member. The warmth of their smiles never faded, their humility beyond compare. If all companies/insitutions can take heed of this - if you treat your clients/customers like royalties, then the price you pay for the service is insignificant! Thanks Harold and staff. And the gourmet food was divine!! Only too much :-)"

"Expensive, sure, but when you consider all of your food (and that is wonderfully cooked and presented: dinner, breakfast, lunch, high tea and sundowner snacks), two game drives a day, a swimming pool, a view over a watering hole from your room, and all this in the centre of the park, is included in the price this is good value for money. When you throw in some of the nicest and friendliest of staff, rangers with awesome knowledge of the flora and fauna then you have an exceptional place. We are saving up to go back already."

"My husband and I spent two glorious nights at Hamiltons. We have been to many luxury lodges within the Kruger but this is by far my favourite to date. The location is breathtaking and we were put up in the best "tent", room 1, I was informed by the extremely cheerful and efficient manager, Harold. On our second day elephants played in the river right in front of our balcony and the resident male hippo provided much amusement.Breakfasts were exceptional and the chef came to our table every evening to ensure our food was up to standard. I was so sorry that I hadn't booked a longer stay and cannot wait to return in next year."
- Robynne
"Wonderful service in a relaxing setting along a quiet river. Six "tented" rooms that are quite separated from each other and a small outdoor "tented" lodge.. There is a small pool that is used during the summer months. The service was without fault and they seemed to be genuinely concerned about making sure they provided everything one might need. The early morning 6am to 10 am and 4pm to 7pm safaris were all that one could ask for. The guide was truly an expert. There was nothing to suggest that they were interested in rushing you back from the safari. The food was plentiful, but not "out of this world"."
