Arrive at your lodge in time for refreshments and light snacks before embarking on your first game drive at the Kapama reserve, part of the Greater Kruger. Sightings of the infamous Big Five and other animals are frequent. Your stay is all-inclusive with luxury accommodation, all meals, drinks (soft drinks and alcoholic beverages), and superb hospitality. We arrange your air transfer from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit with a short transfer reaching Kapama Private Game Reserve in time to freshen up and have something to eat.
Head out with your ranger and tracker for the afternoon game drive through the reserve. En route, you’ll stop for a sundowner drink and will have a chance to stretch your legs as you watch the sunset over the distant peaks of the Drakensberg mountains. As darkness falls, the nocturnal animals of the bush come out. The skilled tracker will scan the landscape using a spotlight, which illuminates animals’ eyes. A variety of completely different species can be seen on the night drive back to the lodge. Arrival at the lodge is usually around 7 pm, allowing time to freshen up before enjoying a sumptuous dinner.

Today you will rise between 5 am and 5:30 am, have tea or coffee and rusks before setting off on a morning game drive.
The cooler morning temperatures mean that the game in the reserve is often more active, and the softer light makes for great images. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, after which you will have time to relax by the pool, dip into a good book, or enjoy the rest of the lodge’s facilities. After a decadent high tea, you will head out on your afternoon game drive, which may continue beyond dusk. Your day will invariably end with a good dinner and some reminiscing about the day’s sightings.

Today will be another early start for a final morning game drive and, hopefully, some memorable sightings to cap off your stay. After the drive, enjoy breakfast at your lodge and then be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Johannesburg to fly home or continue on your travels elsewhere. Additional accommodation before and at the end of the tour can be arranged for an extra cost.
The northern Drakensberg mountain range provides a majestic backdrop to this contemporary private game lodge in the Greater Kruger National Park region. River Lodge is situated within Kapama Game Reserve and presents the perfect blend between luxurious accommodation and with 64 bedrooms, generous bed capacity.
Each of the spacious rooms features a full en-suite bathroom and enjoys uninterrupted views of this game-rich, Big Five reserve. The central guest entertainment areas include a swimming pool, lounge, bar, library, curio shop, multifunctional function venue, and boma. Meals are buffet-style and offer a variety of freshly prepared pan-African dishes.

Went through Newmarket travel and Hays travel ..information about flight changes hard to get..but on arrival the holiday was taken over Safari.com..amazing ..experience everything was fine tuned and the staff ..guides drivers fabulous and friendly ..lots of knowledge..lots of fun and the surprises they did was so lovely ...loved every minute ..Paris our guide was amazing..10/10 and Eric driver ..the waiters and waitress every and everyone in the hotels .smiling and friendly..Best holiday of my life

Working with Anja at Safari.com was great. She was able to work some magic and got us a few nights at the safari lodge we really wanted, Ngoma. Unfortunately, our flight from the USA to South Africa was canceled and we were rebooked a day later but Anja was great about making sure our lodge and the transports knew about the change in plans and made sure we got to our trip as soon as we could. She was a great partner to have and communicated quickly whenever we reached out. I would highly recommend using her when planning a trip to Africa!
