Watching thousands of wildebeests and zebras crossing the grassland savannah is an experience to behold and surely one of Africa’s natural wonders. On this 6-day lodge safari, you will visit the Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti National Park. To increase your chances of witnessing the Great Migration, the route and the order of camps are chosen according to your time of travel.
After meeting your safari guide in the morning, you will travel in a 4×4 Toyota Land Cruiser to the Tarangire National Park. The landscape is characterized by open savannah, baobab trees, seasonal swamps, and the life-giving Tarangire River. Many animals gather at the river, including elephants, giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. You might even spot the fringe-eared oryx or the peculiar-looking gerenuk. Tarangire is also home to buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, closely followed by a range of predators including lions.
Your safari vehicle has an open roof and is the ideal viewing platform to appreciate the nature and animals around you. In the late afternoon, you will leave the park and travel to the Sangaiwe Tented Lodge, where you will spend the night.

Today’s journey takes you past Lake Manyara into the fertile Ngorongoro highlands. Crossing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will reach the vast open plains of the Serengeti National Park in the early afternoon.
The following days are set aside for exploring the famous Serengeti, home to the Big Five – elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and rhino – amongst many other animals. You can look forward to numerous new wildlife sightings during your game drives, as each day on safari is unique.
You will spend the following three nights at the Kati Kati Tented Camp. Depending on the season, you will either stay one night in the central Serengeti and two nights in the northern Serengeti (June – October) or the southern Serengeti (January – March), or all three nights in the central Serengeti (November – December & April – May).
Accommodation: Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp or similar
These two days are dedicated to exploring the Serengeti. Together with your guide, you will scout for animals in this pristine corner of the world. You will have plenty of time to observe the park’s wildlife and learn about their behavior as well as their social structures.
The Serengeti National Park, the third largest park in Tanzania, is stunningly beautiful. While the landscape in the south is characterized by open grassland stretching as far as you can see, the north and west feature open woodlands and hills. Together with the Masai Mara, the Serengeti hosts the Great Migration of millions of wildebeest and zebras, one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth.
Your accommodation at one of the Kati Kati Tented Camps ensures the best chance of witnessing the Great Migration, with routes and camp orders chosen based on your travel time.

After breakfast, you will continue your safari in the Serengeti. In the Seronera Valley, you might be fortunate enough to witness predators hunting, as animals gather at the waters during the dry season.
Following a picnic lunch, you will slowly drive towards the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon reaching the crater, you will enjoy a superb view of the caldera, which spans approximately 20 km and is part of an UNESCO World Heritage Site home to over 20,000 animals.
You will stay at the Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp on the crater rim, where you can enjoy an incredible sunset.
Accommodation: Ang'ata Ngorongoro Camp or similar
Rise and shine! After an early breakfast, you will drive down the steep path into the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest, unbroken, and unflooded caldera in the world and boasts an astonishing diversity of wildlife. In addition to zebras and wildebeests, you might also spot the rare black rhino along with other members of the Big Five. The crater is also home to hyenas, waterbucks, bushbucks, eland, and more than 500 bird species.
After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch, you will leave the caldera in the afternoon and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the early evening.

My Safari Concierge - Excellent!!
My Safari concierge, Kim, was excellent! She was patient with me as I finalized the plans for our Tanzania adventure! My boyfriend & I are going to enjoy this amazing trip to celebrate his 50th birthday, and I am certain it will be nothing less than remarkable.

Hope the Safari itself is as good as the help provided by Kim!
We only just booked our safari which will take place next year, so I can only give my opinion on Kim Abrahams who was the lovely lady who guided us and managed our booking. Kim was wonderful, once we asked for our quote she replied and was present 100% to all our queries, replying super quickly, providing options and making the reservation a very pleasurable experience.
