In terms of an all-Inclusive top wildlife experience, it doesn't get much better than this! Enjoy 5-days at Simbavati River Lodge, in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve.
Experience a luxury safari at Simbavati River Lodge while viewing the wildlife that Africa is famous for. The lodge is situated in the Timbavati Game Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger Park, and offers excellent game viewing, including all the Big Five. It is also home to rare white lions and wild dogs. The Simbavati River Lodge will make you feel at ease with its attentive staff and luxury accommodation.
Begin your journey in Johannesburg with a flight from OR Tambo International Airport to Hoedspruit Airport. On your arrival in Hoedspruit, you will be met and have a short transfer to the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve and to the Simbavati River Lodge, where you'll spend five days in comfortable luxury whilst exploring the African bushveld.
Simbavati River Lodge enjoys a unique setting on the banks of Kruger Park’s Nhlaralumi River in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve. Your stay is in one of the luxury safari tents, which have spacious game-viewing decks with either a river or bush view. Explore the facilities and every step unveils a new surprise, whether it's a dainty impala crossing your path or a romantic place in which to relax.
In the late afternoon, you'll head out into the bush for up-close animal encounters and to witness the most spectacular red-sky sunset you will ever see. Be sure to be on the lookout for the reserve's famous white lion.
Dawn and dusk game drives are offered. Enjoy traversing the vast open tracts of the bush with your ranger, who will make note of what you hope to see on your South African safari. Your guide is often a keen photographer and will be conscious and considerate if your mission is to capture sightings on camera. The morning drive includes a refreshment stop before returning to the lodge for breakfast.
The rest of the day is yours to do as you choose. Between game drives, you could enjoy a game-viewing experience of note just sitting on the deck as wildlife comes and goes from the waterhole right below the dining deck. You could rest by the pool before lunch or relax in your suite.
After high tea, the evening drive pauses for intimate sundowners at a scenic spot along the way, after which your ranger will search for nocturnal wildlife with a spotlight on the way back to the lodge.
This is the final day of your safari in Timbavati. After a morning activity and breakfast, you'll say farewell to the African bush. Depart Timbavati Private Game Reserve by returning to Hoedspruit Airport for your onward air transfer to Johannesburg.

Mel has been exceptional in helping us…
Mel has been exceptional in helping us book our trip to South Africa. She gave me insight about what to do and where to go and put up with my 1000 changes to the trip. I highly recommend working with her and I cannot wait to make it to the actual trip. Im so excited!

Mel was fantastic but do your research!
Mel from Safari.com went above and beyond to ensure that our entire trip went smoothly. We visited both South Africa and Zimbabwe. We had a few hiccups along the way, as we were initially assigned another agent (who no longer works there) and unfortunately gave us high expectations and promises that weren’t fulfilled. She promised us a Ngala / Sabi safari type of experience in South Africa but booked us a lodge called Kusudalweni (which was no where near that type of experience! The service, food, location, and planned activities were all beyond disappointing. Would definitely avoid this place!!). Mel was not familiar with this lodge and unfortunately just followed along the previous agent. Mel tried her best to arrange another lodge and offer us other game drives but unfortunately the lodge was extremely difficult to deal with. Although, she organised the lodge in Zimbabwe and that was incredible! She was extremely responsive throughout our entire trip and ensured to contact our hotels, guides, etc. anytime we had a problem, it was such a relief to not have to worry about any of the hassle while we were there. My biggest recommendation is making sure to do your research about the lodges / hotels that are offered and see if they align with the type of “luxury” experience you are expecting. Mel was definitely great at ensuring we knew exactly what we were getting and I would definitely recommend requesting her specifically. Mel deserves a 5 star rating but unfortunately, due to the issues we had with the previous agent at this company, I had to give it an overall 4 star review.
