Madikwe Game Reserve is one of the largest private game reserves in South Africa, boasting a rich and diverse vegetation that supports an abundance of wildlife. Remarkably, Madikwe is one of the few game reserves in the world that was proclaimed a wildlife reserve based on the landscape's ability to sustainably support Africa's most beloved animals.

Tuningi Safari Lodge takes its name from an ancient, sprawling fig tree that stands in the outdoor boma of the lodge. Designed to offer guests privacy and tranquility, Tuningi comprises only six luxurious suites, making it the ideal destination for family and small group getaways.

Each beautifully appointed suite is spacious, featuring an en-suite bathroom with an oversized bath and stunning views, a private outdoor rock shower, a comfortable lounge area, a gas fireplace, air conditioning, and overhead fans.

The private wraparound wooden decks on each suite offer the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the surrounding bush. The lodge is thoughtfully designed to cater to families, offering two spacious. Family Suites. Each suite includes two en-suite double bedrooms connected by a dining area, kitchenette, living room, and an expansive timber deck overlooking the bush.

Lodge facilities include a reception area, a lounge with satellite television and Wi-Fi connectivity, a dining area, a bar, a library, a wine cellar, a sparkling swimming pool, an outdoor boma, and a game-viewing deck overlooking an active waterhole. The lodge is also a popular choice for wedding ceremonies.

The Madikwe Reserve is best explored on thrilling walking trails and open safari vehicles, all accompanied by Tuningi’s experienced rangers. A remarkable array of birds and mammals thrives in the diverse landscapes and vegetation zones of Madikwe. The reserve is home to a variety of animal species, including the iconic Big Five, as well as rare species such as servals, meerkats, endangered wild dogs, and cheetahs.

With over 420 recorded bird species, the Madikwe Reserve is a prime birdwatching destination. Children are warmly welcomed at Tuningi and kept entertained with their very own interactive Bush Program, combining wildlife-themed education with fun activities.
