The Detail

Phinda Homestead is an exclusive-use, luxurious four-bedroom bush home that is well-appointed with furniture featuring subtle hints of retro 1980s design. The private home showcases the reserve's rich history as a former pineapple farm, with decor that depicts traditional Zulu craftwork and wildlife. Shades of burnt clay and aloe provide accent colors, while Zulu basketwork and weaving are prominent throughout the villa.

Suited for a family or a group of eight, the villa offers attractive and inviting shared spaces that are ideal for conversations or peaceful relaxation. The elegant bedrooms feature spacious bathrooms with marble basins designed to resemble traditional Zulu pots, along with luxury amenities. State-of-the-art facilities include a gym and massage room, a library, an island bar to encourage family gatherings, and a beautiful herb garden located outside the kitchen.

The villa is complemented by a dedicated guide, tracker, butler, and chef, as well as a rim-flow swimming pool, Wi-Fi throughout the villa, and complimentary laundry service.

Phinda Private Game Reserve boasts a unique convergence of riverine and rare sand forest habitats, home to a wide variety of wildlife. Guests may encounter lions, giraffes, white and black rhinos, antelopes, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, cheetahs, and wildebeests, in addition to over 415 bird species.

Phinda Homestead offers a diverse and exciting range of safari activities. These include morning and evening game drives in open land rovers, bush breakfasts, and boat cruises on the Mzinene River, with experienced guides eager to share their knowledge. The proximity of the coastline allows for optional excursions featuring snorkeling, scuba diving, and fishing.

During game drives, guests can also relax in their suites or by the swimming pool. Alternatively, they may explore on foot, accompanied by an armed guide, discovering the smaller wonders of the reserve, such as unique creatures and plant life. Bird enthusiasts may arrange visits to a nearby bird hide, as the area is home to a variety of bird species.

Price Includes

Accommodation, all meals, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, tea and coffee, refreshments on game drives, laundry, safari activities, one-hour nature walks (accompanied by experienced armed trackers, subject to availability), emergency medical evacuation insurance, VAT, and transfers to and from the lodge airstrip.

Rate Excludes

Transfers other than those from the lodge airstrip, champagne, cognacs, fine wines, premium brand spirits, cigars, gratuities, landing fees, government bed levy, conservation or park fees, and all items of a personal nature.
