Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe

Accommodation: The Boma Hotel

Today you arrive at Entebbe International Airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the evening.

Depending on your time of arrival, we recommend renting a bicycle at the hotel and cycling to the breathtaking Entebbe Botanical Gardens for a relaxing afternoon, or enjoy a refreshing beverage beside the pool in the tropical gardens of the hotel.

This evening, you have the option of venturing out into the city for dinner or indulging in a home-cooked dinner at the hotel's restaurant with a selection of European inspired dishes to choose from.

Day 2 - 3: Bwindi National Park

Accommodation: Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp

This morning after breakfast you will be picked up and transferred to Entebbe airport for your scheduled flight to Kihihi airstrip. On arrival, you will be met and transfer by road for approximately one and a half hours before reaching the camp.

Gorilla Forest Camp is located within the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The camp offers guests a luxury retreat and incredible gorilla trekking experience in the heart of the rainforest.

On your arrival at the camp, you will check in to your room before sitting down for lunch. In the afternoon you can spend your free time relaxing at the camp or take a walk through the forest - a nice warm up before the Gorilla trekking. Bird lovers will be delighted by the 350 species of bird that reside in this area of the forest. The forest is also home to the rare forest elephant, giant forest hog and eleven kinds of primates, such as red-tailed and blue monkey, black and white colobus, baboons and chimpanzee. It's always best to have your camera ready!

The next morning after breakfast you will be briefed by your guide before heading off into the northern parts of the Bwindi Forest in search of the gorilla family group assigned to your group. Many of the guides who accompany the various tour groups have been involved in the habituation process that has made these incredible animals less threatened by the presence of humans. Once the gorillas are located, the group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. You then begin your trek back to camp in time to enjoy a sumptuous dinner.

Day 4: Return to Entebbe

Accommodation: The Boma Hotel

Following this mornings breakfast, you may wish to enjoy one final walk in the forest before gathering your belongings and bidding farewell to the forest and the incredible gorilla experience you've had, as you travel back to Kihihi Airstrip for your scheduled afternoon flight to Entebbe. On arrival in Entebbe, you will take the shuttle bus to the hotel where you will spend the evening.

Day 5: Depart Entebbe

Today your journey in Uganda comes to an end as you take the shuttle bus back to Entebbe International Airport and connect with your onward travel arrangements.

"Beyond expectations. We booked parts of our African trip through Gloria at Safari.com and we’re delighted with her suggestions and ability to work with us. From New Zealand, we needed advice and hers was very good. A lovely personal touch. Would strongly recommend. Thanks Gloria."
