Among the great game reserves of the world, Chobe National Park is home to one of the largest concentrations of elephant on the African continent. Surrounded by wildlife management areas and reserves that allow game to roam freely, the 11 700km² (4 500 square mile) reserve is located in the far north of Botswana, bordering on the Chobe River. Chobe is particularly well known for its large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as the two antelope that cannot be encountered anywhere else in Botswana, the puku and Chobe bushbuck.
One of the highlights about Chobe Game Lodge is the rustic charm of camping combined with the comfort of full service, a flush toilet and steaming hot bucket shower.
With 5 safari tents & ensuite bathrooms at secluded campsites in the game-rich Chobe National Park offer up close and personal encounters with Botswana’s wildlife.
The campsites are not fenced off, guests are accompanied at all times when walking around the lodge at night.
Game drives include beautiful views over the river, with very high densities of elephant, buffalo and hippo, as well as enormous crocodiles, lions, fish eagles, water monitors and black-backed jackal. Known for thrilling, actionpacked interactions between species. Chobe National Park is the only place in Botswana to see the puku and Chobe bushbuck as well as being famous for its high concentration of elephants.
One of the top wilderness areas in the world, Chobe is home to some of the largest elephant herds on the African continent.
The vast elephant population has had a significant impact on the park, thinning out the dense riverine thickets on the banks of the Chobe River. With an incredible wealth of species, Chobe is a haven for birding enthusiasts. Striking colonies of carmine bee-eaters build their nests in the exposed sandy banks of the river.
Chobe also boasts two antelope species rarely encountered elsewhere in Botswana - the puku and the Chobe bushbuck. The puku, with their shaggy orange-brown coats and V-shaped horns, can be spotted grazing the floodplains. Always on the lookout for predators, a repetitive whistle is used to warn fellow herd members.
In contrast, the Chobe bushbuck is nocturnal and rarely forms groups of more than one pair. Rarely seen, this shy antelope, with its short, spiral horns relies on a sharp bark as an alarm call when threatened.

"So easy and efficient to make bookings at Safari.com. World class. Staff is friendly and articulate. Service is a major issue in SA, but not for Safari.com. I hope our stay will be equally enjoyable. Thanks to all!"
- Diego
"Superlative results for our very tight schedule. Safari.com looked at our request for one night in two very separate locations. We were on a very tight schedule to celebrate our 25th anniversary in Africa. Safari.com was able to accommodate our requirement. Our visit was awesome."
