Children's Program
Jaci’s Lodges we believe in the power of family, our lodges are proudly owner and family run. Since way back in 1994 Jaci and Jan van Heteren, who have raised their own family in Madikwe, have been welcoming and catering for families of all sizes with children of all ages.

There is something immensely unique & special about embarking on an authentic South African safari with your family. Witnessing the awe and amazement of a child who spots their first cheetah, who learns the names of countless “goggas”, who becomes our field guide’s “right hand man”, is a indeed a special and rewarding experience.
We are passionate about our beautiful country and it’s people, our spectacular wildlife, breathtaking vistas and striking landscapes. Sharing this with you and your family is what it’s all about. We hope to welcome you to Jaci’s Lodges soon!

Accommodation

The phrase “rooms with a view” does not begin to describe the splendor of the indoor-outdoor ambiance designed to bring the wildlife experience to your doorstep. Thatched roofs, stone walls and canvas panels that roll up, allow you to take in panoramic views from the comfort of the large bathtubs, outdoor shower or private decks. The staff is passionate about hospitality and from the luxurious bathrobes to additional children’s sleepers, no detail of luxury or comfort is overlooked.

The Safari and Nare suites are family suites that cater to the special needs of larger groups with the exclusive use of guides and game vehicles, private swimming pools and the option of private dinners. The safari suite accommodates up to four adults and four children and Nare up to six guests.

Wildlife

Located in a transitional ecozone that borders the Kalahari, the diversity of plant and animal species at the reserve is astounding. In addition to the much sought-after species of lion, buffalo, leopard, elephant and rhino. Madikwe also boasts a multitude of birds and a variety of smaller mammals. Home to endangered wild dogs as well as hyenas, cheetahs and hippos, game drives offer the potential of seeing some of Africa’s most exciting animals.

Because of its size and ecological variety, Madikwe also supports a number of large antelope species, which can be just as rewarding to spot as predators. Antelope such as eland, gemsbok, sable and nyala, are accompanied by smaller species such as springbok, oribi, duiker and klipspringer.

Reviews

"My Favourite Place on Earth" If you want to relax, and get away from the world, this is where you go. There is no other place on earth that both make you feel like you are in complete solitude when you are surrounded by all the luxuries you need. The facilities are excellent, and the bush experience even better.
