Chobe National Park is renowned for hosting the largest concentration of elephants in Africa. During the dry season, these herds, along with large herds of buffalo, gather along the fertile floodplains of the Chobe River. Spectacular sightings of puku, sable, giraffe, and roan antelope, along with the rare aquatic Red Lechwe and the indigenous Chobe Bushbuck, are frequent. The abundance of wildlife supports a thriving population of predators, including resident populations of lions, leopards, wild dogs, and cheetahs. The park hosts the Big Five, along with massive pods of hippos and crocodiles. Chobe is also a haven for bird enthusiasts, showcasing over 450 species, including Pel’s Fishing Owl and the uniquely beaked African skimmer.

Children of all ages are welcome to stay at Chobe Bush Lodge, and 0–11 year olds stay free in one of the 4 family rooms. Game drives carry a minimum age of 6 per Kwando's broader Botswana camp policy, and private vehicles are compulsory for families with children under 12 (children 6–11 must book a private vehicle). Walking safaris and mokoro excursions are not permitted for under-12s. Note: the supplier T&Cs apply to Kwando's Botswana camps generally (Kwara, Lagoon, Lebala, Splash, Pom Pom, Rra/Mma Dinare, 4 Rivers, Nxai Pan, Tau Pan, Gunns, Moremi Crossing); Chobe Bush Lodge is not specifically named in the Child Policy clauses, so application to Chobe Bush Lodge is inferred. No cots, highchairs or child-friendly equipment provided — families must bring their own.

"Booked an 11-day tour starting and finishing in Johannesburg and including Victoria Falls, Chobe and the Okavango Delta. The service from Cearl was very professional with numerous options discussed before settling on the final version. Prices seemed to be very reasonable."
