You Should Know

• Children over the age of 12 years are welcome at the camp and must share a family room with their parents at Vumbura Plains North Camp.
• Children under 17 years must share accommodation with at least one adult at all times, as the camp is unfenced.
• Families with children aged 12 years and younger are required to book private activities unless the camp is booked for exclusive use or the family fills a vehicle (6 guests). Private vehicle/activity booking is subject to the camp's availability during the requested period.

The Detail

This diverse region of the Okavango Delta is a prime game-viewing area, with a wide range of herbivore and predator species residing in the reserve. This region is also believed to have the best antelope diversity, with frequent sightings of sable.

Vumbura Plains South Camp

The South Camp features one double-bedded tent and six twin-bedded tents that can be converted into double rooms. Each tent is elevated off the ground and boasts a spacious bedroom, en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, a sunken lounge area with floodplain views on three sides, a private plunge pool, and a sala area overlooking the African bushveld.

Vumbura Plains North Camp

The North Camp features one double-bedded tent, two family tents, and four twin-bedded tents that can be converted into double rooms. Like the South Camp tents, each is elevated off the ground and features a spacious bedroom, en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, a sunken lounge area with floodplain views from three sides, a private plunge pool, and a sala area that overlooks the African bushveld.

Family Tents

The family tents accommodate up to four guests and include two bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms. The main bedroom boasts large showers and a sunken lounge leading from it. All the other features of the standard tents are also included.

Shared Areas

Both camps offer large lounge, dining, and bar areas, along with expansive viewing decks equipped with comfortable couches and fire pits.

Activities

Guests can choose from a range of activities, including morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles, night game drives, mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions, boating safaris, guided nature walks, catch-and-release fishing, bird watching, and hot air balloon safaris (available from April to mid-October).

Seasonal Highlights

During the annual floods, the plains surrounding Vumbura become inundated and attract an abundance of wildlife. Guests can enjoy incredible sightings of elephants, giraffes, buffalo, wildebeest, and various antelope species. The flooded grasslands create waterways inhabited by hippos and crocodiles. Predator sightings include lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildcats, and the rare African wild dog.
