Reviews

"From arrival to departure we felt a warm welcome from all staff. The food was excellent and plentiful as was the game spotting. Definitely worth a visit."

- Jeanie

"The Place is very well made, the ambiance is lovely, we loved the rooms and the decor. The manager Mr. Abhishek was a nice guy and was helpful. The game drive was very nice with our Driver Mr. Okie made it more wonderful. Spotting animals was easy and we found Elephants, Rhino's, Giraffe's, Wild Buffaloes, Wild Pigs, Crocodile, Ostrich etc etc..."

"Mabula Game Lodge was a great experience. Lovely room, comfortable bed and impalas passing near by the room. The food was good. Big choice of everything, lots of fresh fruit. The staff is very friendly. 2 Game Drive a day and every time we saw lots of different animals near by. The big topper was watching 3 cheetah chasing the impalas."

- Marianner

"We had a wonderful stay at Mabula Game Lodge. The Game Ranger was awesome not to mention the exquisite food! What a great stay with value for your money! The rooms were nice and clean and everything was perfect! I will recommend this to anyone!"

- Marisha

"Over all a great experience starting from accommodation, safari, food and the location. Hospitality was at its best. Its a gem of a destination in the middle of the wilderness though sometimes your luck run out and you get to see very few animals but that depends on the weather conditions."

- Frehan

"The stay at Mabula was out of this world. Would recommend everyone to give it a try. From check in the front office manager greeted us, and throughout our stay all staff were friendly and the rangers interacts with you on lunch and Dinner times. The horseback safari was a unique experience with a very friendly leader. The food was above expectation and very tasty with the chefs always making conversation. The rooms are clean and big enough to have a comfortable stay."

"We have just returned from a perfect week at Mabula. The safaris are excellent, and we saw 4 of the big 5 on an almost daily basis. On our first night we sat within 1 metre of 2 male lions!! Francis was our ranger and his knowledge of the animals and surrounding wildlife is extraordinary! We were often late to breakfast/dinner as he was busy following the lion/leopard/cheetah/elephant tracks to try and hunt them down! The food is lovely with a lot of variety and things such as steaks, omelettes and burgers being cooked fresh in front of you on the hot plate. The restaurant staff are extremely friendly and can not do enough to help you - they even arranged a special private candlelit dinner for us on our second to last night. A personal highlight for us was the BBQ in the Boma around the fire with the amazing traditional African dancers - in particular the drummer. Our room was spacious and very comfortable - again the housekeeping staff are lovely; every night we returned from the game drive to find chocolates on our pillows, a bookmark bedtime story such as "how the zebra got his stripes" and sometimes a candlelit bath. We enjoyed watching the vervet monkeys and their babies playing in the trees overlooking our balcony. The horseback and quad bike safaris are a must whilst at Mabula, and they are made even more interesting by Moses the ranger and his knowledge of the plants and trees. The spa is also very good - we enjoyed a variety of very reasonably priced treatments. We had the most amazing week at Mabula and will definitely be returning!"

"Some errors on booking and service arrangements on arrival. Reduction in food standards compared to the standard I am used to from the past, but absolutely outstanding ranger experience. The personalized attention was unprecedented. Reg Magennis."

- Reg

"Everything was perfect. Game drives were spectacular as game ranger assigned to us took us to see the animals we were interested in. Accommodation was spacious and comfortable. Staff were helpful and polite. Food was good and catered for different tastes."

- Stacey Kasimatis

"Restaurants buffet serving dishes not clean. Serving area walls were absolutely filthy. Warm wine served every time. High ball glasses used for serving whisky. The management of the restaurant is in serious need of getting themselves jacked up to find out what is going on. Game drives were superb though with knowledgableand competent guides/"
