"I have been to South Africa several times and this has got to be one of the best places. The staff, the rooms, the food, everything is wonderful. Small touches everywhere and the game viewing is excellent. This is a special place. You will not be disappointed. The staff makes you feel so welcome. I would return in a heartbeat. Ryan and Terrence are so great at finding animals and adding their touches. Thanks to everyone."

"Our family had a truly unforgettable 2 week trip to South Africa and were fortunate to spend 4 of our days at Royal Malewane. We could not have hoped for a better experience. The accommodations were luxurious, we each gained 5 pounds due to the great dining and the game viewing was exciting and life changing. However, all of this was enhanced by the extraordinary warmth of our hosts and guides, most especially Riaan, Shadrook, Peggy, Vhasi and the incomparably talented Vincent. There are other wonderful options for an African Safari experience and many travelers try more than one on the same trip, as we did. So I'll share a few features that other travelers might like to know from our experience: WiFi worked great, even better than our luxury Capetown hotel. Our Pescatarian always had plenty of scrumptious dining choices. The Spa far surpassed our expectations. It's great to have a private pool! Turns out we overpacked because the daily free laundry service was fully utilized after getting a bit dusty on our game drives. Hugs all around at the end of our stay and this "once in a lifetime" gave way to "we're coming back and we are coming back here!""

"If you are planning a grand safari be sure to check out the Royal Malewane. We just returned two days ago from a 19 trip to South Africa and the Royal Malewane couldn't be beat for a safari. The lodge was beautiful with animals almost at your fingertips. The food and meal settings in the lodge and in the bush were not to be surpassed. Our room was so comfortable and all of the staff first rate. We especially enjoyed the elephants drinking out of our plunge pool on two occasions! The actual safari drives, two a day morning and evening, with stops for coffee and cocktails were more exciting than we ever thought possible. We had close up experiences with all of the big five and many more animals and birds. Our guide and tracker were so knowledgeable and we learned so much about the animals and South Africa in general. This was truly an incomparable experience and the Royal Malewane cannot be beat!!"

"I have stayed at some fabulous hotels and resorts but Royal Malewane may be the best of the best. From the very beginning of our stay where the whole staff met us on arrival to the moment we departed where our ranger and tracker personally took us to our air strip, the attention to detail, to superb service, to excellent food, to a divine spa with wonderful massage. Nothing was less than perfect."

"My wife Debbie and I recently completed a fantastic trip to South Africa, celebrating forty wonderful years of being together (7 dating and 33 married). While we thoroughly enjoyed our entire time in South Africa, undoubtedly, the highlight of the trip was our stay at the Royal Malewane! Words cannot express the great experience that awaits you at this fabulous property. Everything was absolutely spectacular - the accommodations, the food, the game drives, the great staff and service. It was truly a magical experience! A special thanks to Juan Pinto, our guide for the most amazing game drives we could ever imagine. Not only were we able to view the "Big 5" within 24 hours of our arrival, but his passion and knowledge was impressive. He even managed to get me interested in birds - which if you know me, is quite an accomplishment. ...And don't get me started on the 4 elephants that visited us on our first morning, drinking water and spraying themselves from our pool - WOW!! Thank goodness for IPhone video, otherwise no one would ever believe us! Debbie and I have been blessed to travel the whole world and share some pretty special experiences - but our stay at the Royal Malewane is now at the top of our list. We thought this would be a one off experience - check the bucket list; been there, done that - but we are already talking about returning with our children and grandchildren. Until we meet again..."

"Absolutely magical. From the service, rooms, location, our amazing guides Rudy and Sally and the management. This is a vacation we will remember our entire lives. Thank you to the entire staff. Our three teenage girls couldn't have been happier."

"Royal Malewane is a very special place, and Kielan and the team make you feel very welcome from the outset. The rooms are magnificent, the food was fantastic, and the Spa is amazing. But of course it's all about the wildlife. Our ranger and tracker (Ryan and Terrence) were fantastic, and we had to pinch ourselves on several occasions over what we were seeing. The added bonus was the wildlife around the resort, including a herd of elephants walking past our room (and almost stopping to drink from our pool!) and a newborn (literally) impala with mum just by the boardwalk."

"We stayed in Africa House at Royal Malewane and every aspect was superb. We visited safari camps/lodges in South Africa, Zambia and Botswana on this trip and Royal Malewane was best in accommodations, food, staff, service and, most importantly, game viewing guides. Other areas may have more wildlife, but the authenticity of the game viewing experience at Royal Malewane was unsurpassed. We have assigned a new "star" rating to Africa House - it has exceeded 5 Star and achieved "Rock Star" status !"

"The Royal Malewane Safari lodge can only be described as the best of the best. My partner Ralph and I stayed there for an unforgettable 4 days in late April 2015. The game drives in the company of such experienced, highly trained and extremely knowledgeable Rangers and trackers were fantastic. The lodge is superb in every respect with very comfortable, beautifully furnished spacious accommodation, outstanding food and friendly, efficient service. Attention to detail is impressive and ensures guests will have a memorable stay and want to return to this beautiful safari lodge."

"We stayed at the Royal Malewane for 4days/3nights and had the experience of a lifetime. Not only was the hotel beautifully appointed and laid out, the rooms were magnificent and had lots of privacy and we experienced the best hospitality staff i have ever come across. Their kindness, care and hospitality was extraordinary. We came to know all of them and they went out of their way to take care of us - the best! The safari drives were also exceptional with some of the best guides/trackers in the business (we had Peit and Patrick) - we saw all of the Big Five and many more, including beautiful baby lion cubs. And the food - was extraordinary, every dish seemed like it was the best we ever had! Anyone wanting a luxury safari experience should choose the Royal Malewane - it is well worth cost."
