Serra Cafema Camp has been built on the banks of the Kunene River in the very remote north-west Namibia, this area is owned by the Himba people, they are some of the last semi-nomadic people on earth. It is recommended that you also visit Etosha National Park and Swakopmund to experience the contrasts that Namibia has to offer.
This is an incredibly quiet and peaceful section of the Hartmann’s Valley, there are eight en-suite tents with ceiling fans and mosquito nets, built on elevated decks. There are outdoor and indoor dining areas, a sunken lounge, swimming pool and library stocked with numerous books of the unique wildlife and plant life of the Namib desert.
The only source of permanent water is the Kunene River, which creates an oasis effect close to the river which is also teeming with Nile crocodiles. Other animals in the area are springbok, gemsbok and Hartmann’s mountain zebra.
Serra Cafema activities are about the authentic Himba culture and how they coexist in this harsh Namib Desert and an appreciation of the lush oases along the river and how that contrasts with the sand dunes, quad biking trails are magnificent and care is taken not to endanger the delicate habitats in this area. Boating trips along the Kunene River are a must as it allows one to experience the effect that water has in transforming a desert region with various flora along the river banks, and there is a good chance that you will see several crocodiles.
The fully inclusive rates allow access to vast tracts of Africa’s best wildlife areas. In turn, your presence helps tremendously in the conservation of all these areas.

"Well...we are home now from our trip and just wanted to say Thank You so much for all your organizing and suggestions. The trip was really fabulous...smooth running and fun. We were aware that we were maybe not the most congeal clients- and probably pestered you some...but aside from that...we wanted you to know we loved our trip..."
