Simbavati Trails Camp is Simbavati's luxury-but-back-to-basics walking trails camp.
Located in a secluded area of the world renowned Timbavati Private Nature Reserve bordering a 11,000 wilderness area which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. Days start with a 3- to 4-hour walk at a leisurely pace with an armed specialist guide. The perspective on the bush on foot is entirely different from being on a safari vehicle. You'll hear better, smell more and slowly train your eyes to see more afar. Snack and drinks stops tide you over until a tasty brunch is prepared back at camp.
After some 'me' time, spent snoozing or reading outside your tent, a savoury and sweet 'tea' is prepared before a 2- to 3-hour walk at the end of the afternoon, ending at a viewpoint to enjoy an African sunset. A short drive will bring you back to camp with time to freshen up before dinner around the campfire.

Experienced a double booking
Before payment, we experienced an issue of double booking, where suddenly our chosen lodging is only available for 2 out of 4 days. I hope Safari.com can improve their system to avoid this in the future. While it will be an inconvenience on our part to have to move lodging half way, we also understand the high demand of the lodging as we make the booking just 5 months before departure. I really appreciate Nelia's quick action informing us and providing an alternative plan which works for us. Overall it was quite a smooth booking process.

Safari.com was helpful start to finish. The sign up process was clear, the support was great as we tailored our experience. Directions were perfect to get there. Everything in the safari was as we thought it would be and even better. It literally was the trip of a lifetime and exceeded our expectations.

Fantastic travel agent for African safari family trip!
Wow! Shann was and is fantastic! She figured out a way to make our entire trip work. We are going on a 2 week trip to South Africa and Botswana. She really helped tie it all together as a wonderful, cohesive trip. She is super nice and super smart and very knowledgeable. She is also flexible and thoughtful, etc., etc. When the chips were down (and we literally were considering pulling the plug on the whole trip), she found a way to make the entire itinerary work and got us excited about our wonderful adventure!
