Singita Lebombo Lodge perches atop a rugged cliff in the remote wilderness of Nwanetsi, an exclusive 15 000 hectare concession on the remote eastern boundary of the Kruger National Park. This Afro-chic lodge stands dramatically amongst the boulders overlooking the confluence of the Sweni and Nwanetsi rivers. This well-appointed lodge offers guests the quintessential African safari, accompanied by flawless service.
The Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve in South Africa, covering almost two million hectares. The diversity of ecosystems spanned by the Park is home to an astounding array of wildlife and birds.
The 15 loft-style suites are elevated on stilts along the cliff side, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Full-length glass walls on three sides allow for spectacular game viewing and 180-degree panoramic views. Each supremely luxurious suite boasts a full en-suite bathroom with additional outdoor shower. The spacious living area flows out to an expansive timber deck with a day bed – a magical space to spend the night under the silver-speckled skies with the sounds of the wild to lull you to sleep.
The main lodge at Lebombo Lodge offers panoramic views from the expansive timber decks. The lounge area with its log fire and comfortable sofas is a wonderful place to relax. Lebombo Lodge is known for its exceptional cuisine and magnificent wine cellar. The expertly prepared dishes are filled with simple flavours and fresh ingredients, and served either in the dining area or around a crackling log fire in the boma. Guests may request dinners to be served on their private decks.
Between safari activities, guests may cool off in the sparkling lap pool, or indulge in the range of revitalising and relaxing treatments available at the Bush Spa. A well-equipped gym, archery and mountain biking are available for the more active guests.
Qualified rangers lead dawn and dusk game drives in open viewing vehicles, assuring guests sightings of both diurnal and nocturnal creatures. Expert guides and trackers accompany guests on walking safaris, which provide a wonderful opportunity to track animals on foot and discover the secrets of the plants and landscapes.
The Nwanetsi Concession covers four distinct ecological zones, with a great biodiversity of birds and wildlife. The area is home to the Big Five, including famously large prides of Mountain lion. In addition, there are frequent sightings of cheetah, wild dog, hyena, giraffe, zebra, sable, waterbuck, hippo, wildebeest, kudu, and crocodile.
Birdlife is prolific with over 300 species recorded in the region. Five vulture species are present: White-backed, Lappet-faced, White-headed, Hooded, and less frequently, the Cape vulture. The red-billed, and the endangered yellow-billed oxpeckers, are also residents of the region. Other notable species include the African Pipit, Chestnut-backed sparrow-lark, Harlequin quail, and Southern black tit.

"Andrew our tracker, and Chris, our guide were the best ever. We saw all the big 5, except the rhino, as they have been almost eradicated. We had a party of six, and had a wonderful experience. The staff was amazing, the food was wonderful, and the accommodations a 5 star plus."
"The location is stunning, and the hotel's design was equally fantastic, but the staff really disappointed us. Once we arrived at the lodge we were greated by a lady from reception, who gave us our first taste of the hotel's staff. All of us thought of her as very cold (almost like a teacher), who took everything very seriously. I have to say attention to detail is definitely not a bad thing, but her attitude was not personal, and we did not feel open to ask her anything we wanted. In due course we were shown the room, which was beautiful, but not practical. There was no curtain for the extra bed and the mosquito nets had holes - that completely defeats the point! Also, the rails on the balcony were very dodgy and unstable, and considering we were so high up, this made us feel very unsafe. However the views were amazing, and it was beautifully furnished to match the wonderful safari-fit location. During our stay, we took part in some activities that were very fun for all of us and, of course, some game drives. The game drives were very nice, and we got close to some of the animals (though not as close as another lodge we had been at), but the ranger had an appauling attitude... At some points I started getting nervous being too close to some of the Big Five, and the ranger was annoyed, and didn't budge the jeep. In the other lodge we stayed at in the Kruger, the ranger there helpfully explained things and made sure you understood and felt comfortable, whereas this one in Singita was rushed and rude. In general, we saw many staff as the ones I described above, and we did not feel we were given everything the Kruger had to offer."
"An absolutely amazing place with gorgeous views. Food and accommodation was 5 star all the way. The staff couldn't do enough to make your stay enjoyable and the Safari tour ranger and tracker go the extra mile to make it worth your time and money..... I would certainly recommend asking the front of house to setup the outside bed for a beautiful night under the stars."

"A beautiful spacious room with a perfect view over the river and with all a spoiled traveler needs. Excellent food, best South African wines and high service. The room has a 180 degree view because its made out of glass. The bed on the deck was great, especially with the hippo's nearby. We even did a biking tour trough the Kruger and saw lions. An experience which I never will forget. On our evening safari we even saw Hyena's and a Janet. This is a very exclusive destination were you can see all the wildlife you can dream of without seeing lots of other safari vehicles."
"At first I was a little reluctant about this lodge because it did not fit my image of a Safari lodge. It was very modern with rooms of all glass and steel beams. I quickly embraced the architecture as it afforded us unobstructive views and made one feel like their outdoors while still feeling the safety of these magnificent rooms. The drives alongside the Mozambique borders were utterly magnificent and awe-inspiring. This is truly first class lodge with all the amenities. We were very fortunate to have an outstanding team to take us on our bush drive; our Ranger/Driver Jani and our Tracker Solly. They were both very knowledgeable and determined. The entire staff was accommodating and responsive. I wished I could remember our server/waitress because she was the best of the best."
"This "lodge" as they call it. Was one of my favorite places I have ever stayed. The personal service we received was perfect. From the time we landed on a strip of dirt and rocks we were treated with drinks and food. The ride to the lodge was so exciting. We stopped and watched elephants and buffaloes and many other animals. Our room was large. The bathroom has an indoor and outdoor shower so you can view wildlife all the time. At night they set up an outside bed with netting and was a wonderful experience that everyone should try. The game drives were very relaxing and exciting at the same time. The first day we located many different animals. At night we always stopped for drinks to watch sunset. The whole experience was amazing!"
"Tree house bungalows, sleep outside listening to the hippos, shower in the wild. The greatest wine cellar, and the best safari sighting imaginable. The guides and trackers can track and find animals like no other! Oh and killer drinks and food."
"Upon entering our room we saw hippos splashing around in the watering hole below. Loved the outdoor sleeping area with mosquito netting. Very thoughtful amenities with sunscreen, water bottle, mosquito spray and chapstick provided as well as tote bags on loan for safari drives. Great food and exceptional wine, very attentive service and great guide (Nico) and tracker. All the staff was super and very friendly. Highly recommend."
"To get there, we took a small plane from Johannesburg to Lebombo in Kruger park. Once we arrived, we were welcomed by a wonderful man called Clement who gave us an insight on the park, Singita and the villages around. It's a treat to drive to the lodges as you see elephants and giraffes on the way which is exciting. Once we got to the lodges, we met our butler Daniel as well as Nick who would be our guide over the two days that we were there, taking us on our safaris. We had lunch and immediately went on our first safari. We saw 4 out of the Big 5 in the afternoon and the experience in the cars with the blankets and the nice stops for coffee or drinks with snacks was a nice touch. Nick was our main guide and we had a tracker called Christoff as well. The overall experience is amazing as they work so well together. This really is a luxury safari. We got to go on 4 safaris in total. Each one so different to the other with what we saw. The bedroom was spacious with an outdoor and indoor shower as well as a nice big tub. At turndown service, they put the mosquito net around your bed, which makes you feel like you're out camping. The view overlooked the river and we could see hippos early in the morning. The second day that we were there, we went to see an initiative launched by them for a Cooking school, which selects students from the nearby village, who undergo interviews to be selected and that are trained to be chefs. What was nice is that the people from the village are given priority to work at these places. The food at the lodge is spectacular and everything just tastes so good! Make sure you go there hungry because any chance they get to feed you, they do. Our waiter that looked after us every day, Jeffrey, was so pleasant (and a great dancer too!) The spa was relaxing with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the wild, with calm spa music. I loved that the brand of toiletries were from Dermalogica. Our last night there, they had a traditional African bbq with music and singing and dancing. It was very memorable. They served Impala and ostrich and other types of animals you would not normally eat. They do cater for vegetarians too! I would go again and would recommend it for something different while still feeling pampered at the same time. Be prepared with insect repellent, to hear the sounds of frogs croaking, and to find random beetles in your room. I'm so thrilled that we didn't stay in a tent. Beautiful lodges.. Beautiful people"
"I believe that the Singita experience should be on every discerning travelers bucket-list ! The staff are friendly, warm and welcoming, the food is above par and the accommodation is spectacular and an experience on its own. The attention to detail is excellent and you don't have to be a bush lover to enjoy the experience. The rooms are very well appointed and modern with all the luxuries one needs. No effort is too much for the staff of Singita Lebombo and all needs and requirements are catered for. There is a tranquil Spa, beautiful pool and game drives aplenty. There are various additional options such as bush walks, bicycle rides and archery. All activities are accompanied by their very experienced and knowledgeable staff. The food is excellent and there is an excellent selection of wines, beers, whisky and alcohol free beverages. The location will leave you in awe, and you will want to return again. Although this is an excellent lodge, privacy is also important to the staff, and you will feel cared for during your stay."
