"What a grand old Hotel. The beautiful hotel stand in the most beautiful of settings. It was truly amazing. The rooms are fantastic and reminds of the days of old. Service was second to none. You feel as if you've been moved back in time when things were simpler and easier."

- Chris

"This is a great old property. We stayed in the Stables which is a tasteful extension with gardens, courtyard and compliments lounge, canapés and drinks. The Livingston dining room was an experience and a chance to dress up. Located walking distance to falls."

- Ross

"Beautiful hotel with a genteel but friendly 1920s feel. Food wonderful - try the High Tea - entertainment at dinner (African dancing) great and the staff all know our name even when we haven't met them before! Hotel looks out at Victoria Bridge and is a great base for sightseeing."

- Philip

"Spacious, well equipped comfortable air conditioned suite. Very good breakfast buffet, good evening meal with native dancers for entertainment. Very good afternoon tea; there were other dining options we did not explore. The other facilities and service were excellent. The ambiance was Colonial luxury, set in a pre-war timewarp, which made it a fascinating experience."

- George

"Grand Victoria Hotel in Zimbabwe, what an elegant and old world hotel, where the staff are so courteous and friendly, the food is amazing, our room was small, but comfortable with all we needed, the views spectacular, and if you want to experience what it was like in the early 1900's in Zim, this is the only place to go. Our time was too short there, will definitely go back, and highly recommend this hotel to everyone."

- Larry

"What a super hotel. I stayed there on my own over four days and although there were plenty of activities on offer in Victoria Falls it was so tempting to be enveloped in the charm of the place and just chill out by the pool."

- Jane

"Every little thing has been thought off, pure luxury. So much character and every thing kept in the 'old colonial ' style. The rooms are great so is the service, and the buffets superb, - loved the bread shaped snakes and crocs. And to remind you that you are still in Africa a couple of wild warthogs wandered on to the lawn and monkeys on the roof. The Falls are ably a short walk and the view from the terrace is superb"

- Gini

"This hotel has amazing character, views, food and especially staff. Yes the hotel is old, but it is well maintained and has incredible character. the rooms are neat and tidy, the ground beautifully maintained. We dined at the buffet restaurant for dinner and breakfast, both were tasty with plenty of choice. The staff are its greatest asset, they always greet you with a smile and hello. Thank you for an amazing holiday"

"This elegant hotel sits up there with the Worlds Best.......comparative with say the Mount Nelson in Cape Town,Reid's in Madeira or Raffles of Singapore! It was a memorable stay. My travel partner & I lived it up with a superb dinner in the grand Livingstone Room......the pianist was really something else and has an amazing ........ memory for tunes......my partner recalled he last enjoyed dinner in that very same dining room 70 years ago - Christmas of 1945. A landmark year indeed. (yes, my travel partner celebrated his 85th. Birthday that same week). Just to put things into perspective..... The old world charm of the hotel can be found everywhere, from the sumptuous rooms to the glorious art deco swimming pool. Memorabilia abounds around the hotel lobby and passages - fascinating, I found old Union-Castle Line framed mailship menus, steamer posters, an old publicity poster of Durban, air and rail posters from way back, and much else besides. This place is a living museum, and its wonderful. Nobody's visit to Victoria Falls should be complete without a stay here or at least a visit to one of the restaurants or bars. It is the right thing to do. Savour......and relish. You do not find many hotels left quite like this one. We left the hotel very reluctantly after our short stay, but boarded the oldworld train Rovos Rail for a three night trip to Pretoria. That was also a good choice. The party started in a function room at the hotel, with train check-in and champagne & snacks were served. Way to go. And it is only a few paces from the hotel front door to board the train at the railway station across the road. We hope to be back one day."

- David

"We stayed 2 nights at this wonderful old-fashioned hotel. The staff is wonderful and the food is excellent. We were on the second floor and had a wonderful view. I would give it 5 stars. The location is excellent, you can walk into the small town and there are some cute shops and restaurants. The hotel has a nice swimming pool where you can relax and also serves high-tea in the afternoon, our package came with buffet breakfast, which was great. From the hotel you could walk to a wonderful restaurant which had a great view and a place that you could zip-line from. We would go back there in a heartbeat."
