Within easy reach of the world-renowned Victoria Falls and boasting 15 kilometers of exclusive Zambezi River views, Matetsi River Lodge is an intimate lodge that affords guests a rich wildlife experience on a private conservancy and is close enough to enjoy various other activities offered around the Falls.
Children of all ages are welcome at the lodge. Child rates apply.
Two adults and two children can share in a Family Suite or alternatively a maximum of 8 people in the River House Villa.
Children under 5 years are not permitted on the safari activities unless a private vehicle is booked at an additional fee.
Children over the age of 6 years are permitted on the safari activities and river cruises at the discretion of the lodge manager.
Child minding services are available but must be pre-booked.
Matetsi River Lodge boasts 18 beautifully appointed suites that are positioned to offer guest privacy and spectacular views of the Zambezi River.
Each Suite is contemporary in design with natural tones and abstract artwork. Each features twin beds that can be converted into doubles, en-suite bathrooms with a bathtub, indoor and outdoor showers; mosquito netting, indoor lounge areas, in-room safes, minibars, and private verandahs complete with comfortable couches and plunge pools.
There are two Family Suites that feature two en-suite bedrooms joined by a passageway.
The Matetsi River House is an exclusive-use villa that can accommodate families and groups of up to 8 people sharing in four bedrooms.
With three exclusive guest areas, the facilities offered at Matetsi include a boma, fitness center, safari shop, wine cellar, massage sala, swimming pool, conference center, and various dining areas.
The Conservancy on which Matetsi River Lodge sits is home to an abundance of wildlife including large herds of elephant and buffalo. various antelope, hippo, lion, leopard, wild dog, hyena and 366 species of bird.
Activities offered at the lodge include game drives, walking safaris, birdwatching, canoeing, boating excursions and fishing. Excursions to Victoria Falls can be easily arranged by the lodge.
Matetsi River Lodge is ideal for solo explorers, couples and families looking to visit Victoria Falls and experience a luxury safari.
Accommodation, three meals daily, the house selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, refreshments on game drives, laundry, safari activities including game drives, birdwatching, a cruise on the Zambezi River, amateur fishing and canoeing, as well as emergency medical evacuation insurance.

Fantastic travel agent for African safari family trip!
Wow! Shann was and is fantastic! She figured out a way to make our entire trip work. We are going on a 2 week trip to South Africa and Botswana. She really helped tie it all together as a wonderful, cohesive trip. She is super nice and super smart and very knowledgeable. She is also flexible and thoughtful, etc., etc. When the chips were down (and we literally were considering pulling the plug on the whole trip), she found a way to make the entire itinerary work and got us excited about our wonderful adventure!
