"the Safari experience is indeed about the animals, the people who provide the service and fellow travelers. Pick and greeting from Skukuza airport was flawless the general manager Sven Lingstrom introduces himself and is there for any of your needs the setting along the river is serene. There are constant animals grazing, drinking and migrating between the lodge and the river. The safaris were most successful for us. We indeed saw the big five three times over. We watched migrating Cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hippos antelopes of several varieties We had ideal photo opportunity. Guides and trackers were professional and one felt a strong level of bonding. Guests were international, Coles, singles, families. Cuisine was magnificent never felt that it was not a perfect fit"
"What an amazing experience, scary at first but our fears were soon put to rest with the professionalism and knowledge of our tracker Lucas and our Ranger Jono, you guys were excellent! Our room was beautiful, our plunge pool refreshing and the view of the Sabie River with the hippos playing was priceless. The chef was amazing, the food was excellent, especially the breakfast mushrooms!! Thanks Benik! A big thank you to Sven for setting up a surprising birthday breakfast on the river bank...An excellent memory!! Thank you Jono for sharing your love of nature with us!"
"My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Narina Lodge during our South African honeymoon and it literally was a dream come true. It's hard to put into words the experience we had here, its something you really have to live to truly understand. The lodge, which is situated right on the river is absolutely perfect, so beautiful and natural. The rooms are superb, watching the herd of elephants from our private pool is something we will never forget. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it,we definitely never went hungry!!! Game drives were so fascinating and perfect, we saw the big 5(plus many more) and learned so much from Johan and Issac, they were amazing! Everything about this place was more than we could have hoped for but the thing that made it the most special were the amazing staff. Each and every member of the staff that we were lucky enough to meet were kind, caring, and beyond pleasant to be around, we truly looked forward to seeing them everyday. We cannot recommend this lodge enough and hope that we are lucky enough to visit again!!! Thank you everyone at Narina for an unforgettable honeymoon!"
"Stayed 2 nights in Narina Lodge, what an amazing place. Hippopotamus soaking in the river just on our door step. 5 Safaris with Isaac and Johan, 3 in the afternoon and 2 in the morning (early starts) but well worth it. Saw the "Big 5". Amazing close up with a lion family with 6 cubs. Loved "Sundowners" drinks in the bush. Both our guides very knowledgable, always in radio contact with other guides as to the whereabouts of the animals and our safety in the open jeep a priority. Food at the lodge was exceptional, served on the deck overlooking the river. Elephants came down for a drink in the river. Our private room was romantic and private, just as well as we used the outdoor shower "a natural". The private plunge pool on the deck was very welcome for relaxing in the hot afternoons before our PM safari. King size bed fully enclosed in mosquito netting. Free standing bath, inside shower with a normal shower head and a rainfall shower head. Fridge and air-con as well as over bed fan. Safe for valuables (ours wouldn't open and had all our passports, wallets, mobile phones and money in it) but Sven pulled out all stops to get it open for us..well done. Great staff, free Internet. Loved the last night dinner under the stars, and our names written on our bed in leaves. Thanks to everyone involved for a very memorable stay."
"The most amazing place I have ever been to. Everything was just perfect and exceeded all expectations. Wonderful food and very friendly staff. Loved sitting in my private pool watching all the animals come to the river. Would love to return for my honeymoon!"

"Lion Sands Narina lodge is located in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, a 10-minute drive from Skukuza (SZK) airport, just outside Kruger National Park. An extremely modern and luxurious property, there are no fences here so you are truly out in the wild. All the lodges are separate with their own private balcony and plunge pool. It must be said that during the evening and morning time, you need to call a ranger to bring you from your room to the common area as there are always animals all around you! Extremely ideal for honeymooners, there are also a number of tree houses where couples can stay for the evening sleeping under the stars. The game drives here are very nice. Bisected by a river with only one bridge leading across, the rangers and trackers have a very good idea on the general patterns of the animals, including the lions, leopards, and hyenas. The safari vehicles are very luxurious and seat a maximum of 6. For morning and evening game drives a hot water bottle and fleece poncho is provided which we found amazing. All in all it was a fantastic stay and I wish I could have stayed longer. I am determined to have my honeymoon here! Rooms are amazing, monkeys and mammals running around, food was epic, couldn't ask for more."

"My wife and I booked our trip to Narina Lodge thinking that it would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. But, before we even left the lodge to head home, we were discussing how soon we could come back. The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are huge. Each includes a king size bed, indoor and outdoor showers, and a large soaking tub, among other features. The rooms also have a large deck (with a plunge pool) that overlooks the river. We saw elephants, crocodiles, and various types of antelope while simply relaxing on our deck. The food is equally amazing. Between morning coffee, breakfast, lunch, high tea, and dinner, you will never go hungry. There are various options at each meal, so there is something great for the adventurous and non-adventurous alike. And, everything is delicious. I tried several different soups (pea and mint, sweet potato) that I would normally never think to try, but loved each one. I also tried several different game meats (e.g., gemsbock, impala) and they were delicious. The game drives were incredible. There are two game drives each day (6am-9am and 4pm-7pm). We saw just about every animal we could have dreamed of seeing. We saw a black rhino within 15 minutes of heading out on our first game drive, and spent 15-20 minutes within 10 feet of him as he ate. Later on that same (first) game drive, we tracked a lion as he worked his way up the river. At one point, we were within a few feet of him and, later, watched as he came upon a heard of elephants. We spent time each day checking in on the carcass of an elephant that had died prior to our arrival at the lodge. On the first day, we watched as a pride of lions opened up the carcass and fed. Later, the lions fought over the carcass with a large crocodile. Another day, we saw a number of vultures move in to feed. These experiences alone would have made the game drives amazing, but we also saw elephants, hyenas, leopards, and other animals up close and personal. The best part of Narina Lodge is the staff. I wish I could call out each person who gave us such great service by name, but I simply can't. So, I will focus on our guide Cameron (Cam) and our tracker Isaac. They did an amazing job pointing out animal and plant life and giving us background on what we were seeing. But, more importantly, they became our friends. That must sound ridiculous since we spent only a few days together, but it is true. We learned about them (e.g... where they came from, what their lives are like, etc.) and they took the time to learn about us. It was the relationships that we all formed that I will remember most. When my wife and I left, we gave Cam and Isaac our contact info in case they ever make a trip to the US. We hope that they do, so we can try to show them the same level of hospitality they showed us."
"Where shall I start? With the lovely, caring and enthusiastic staff? With the amazing, stunningly beautiful suites and decor? With the amazing view on to Sabi river? We have been picked up from Skukuza airport by George who later turned out to be our tracker as well. The drive is about 15 minutes long, just about right to get in the mood for a few days in the bush. When we arrived Pinkey gave us a warm welcome on the terrace of the hotel and explained how things work around there, including wifi, game drives, room facilities etc. After 5 minutes in our stunning suite, enhanced with lovely welcome amenities, we had our first sighting of a lion, who was just strutting along the river - fabulous welcome, especially for my partner, who had come to the bush for the first time. At 15.30 we met at the 'lobby', a fabulous open space area, where some afternoon tea with homemade ice tea, iced coffee, cakes and savory snacks was being served. Our ranger for the next few days, Raymond, introduced himself and off we went for our first game drive - this was an exclusive one, because the other couple had decided to stay in for the night. So we were really lucky to enjoy our first game drive only with Raymond and George, who were informative, chatty but never overbearing. We always felt safe with the guys, because they always act responsibly and it shows that they have an encyclopedic knowledge about their working environment. And we will for sure never forget the amazing sundowners with the little delicious snacks they served when opening 'the bar' in the middle of the bush. We had the most amazing sightings which for sure were not only because of luck but also their experience and efficient communication with the other rangers. We enjoyed every single minute of all the game drives - the guys set the bar extremely high and it will be hard for any other ranger to top this experience! Well done guys!!! The service staff - I would like to highlight Simon here - makes sure that every single meal experience is another treat. They always have a friendly word for you, ask you about your sightings during the last game drive and simply take great care of you. The chef surprises and delights every day with new mouthwatering dishes and although you never go hungry at any given time, it is yet really hard to resist the hearty breakfast or the different courses of the dinner. No matter if it is famous braai or fresh fish - hard to believe that in the middle of nowhere the food is so fresh and versatile. The suites are spacious and decorated with a real passion for detail. To be able to choose between two showers, a bath tub and an outdoor shower, all overlooking the river, is simply pure luxury. The amenities are instantly replenished when finished and there is simply nothing you could miss. But the icing on the cake comes from the housekeeping! In our case it was Ethel who took care of our room on a daily basis, always adding little extra touches that make you really feel special. My special favorite were the bedtime stories and the unforgettable candle light bubble bath. The style of this lodge fits perfectly into the environment and while everything is extravagant it still feels comfy and homey. The perfect place to submerge yourself into a different world of serenity, and the beauty of untouched nature! Thanks again to Lodrey and her team!!! Keep up the great work! (Pinkey, Samantha, Raymond, George, Simon, Ethel... and all the others whose names I unfortunately cannot remember)"
"The accommodation and facilities at Narina Lodge are fantastic. The game viewing is certainly up there with the best available in South Africa. Small Lodge with only 9 rooms so it feels very exclusive. The menu options offered for lunches and dinner were great too. Great options to choose from and presentation of the food was fantastic. Loved the breakfast choices for breakfast - slightly different from the norm but not too adventurous. Really understand the requirements when travelling with children. Were very open preparing a more "child friendly" meal should my younger son have requested it. There is also a the option to sleep in a Tree house for the night. Never had the chance to do this but had a quick look at the set up and could only imagine this to be one of life's best experiences. Will definitely have to go back to experience this. Definitely something you should try and do if staying at either Narina or Tinga. Where else can you travel to in the World where you can watch a herd of Elephants stroll past in the river bed below you while having a warm outdoor shower????"
"Narina Lodge elevates the bush and safari experience to an extraordinary level. The staff members are exceptionally well trained, the lodge’s setting is immaculate and the meals and refreshments served are delectable. Our ranger, Jason, is extraordinarily adept in his subject field and alongside with his ranger Emmanuel, they made a superb team effort to ensure many sightings. We enjoyed the visibility of the lodge manager, Sven, the interactive wine tasting conducted by the sommelier Anton, the meals in the boma and on the deck overlooking the river. We loved the pampering treats e.g. warm hand towels on arrival, freshly brewed espresso, home baked pastries outdoor showers, pampering Africology amenities, personal messages and bush tales in the bedroom, etc. It was a highly personalised, memorable experience."
